Regarding Dark Blue World, Wikipedia states “The film was released in America on December 28, 2001 and has grossed $258,771”
That’s a rather depressing number. Doesn’t appear to bode well for my film’s chances in my own country, does it?
I will say, based on the Youtube clips I watched, there are some nice flying sequences in there. From an FX perspective, I thought the tracers were realistic.
Is it safe to assume RAF pilots did not fly with their medals and decorations?
Thanks. I was just wondering if Tuck would have been wearing these when he went down in France.
Thanks, gentleman. Comments are much appreciated.
Last I knew, Dam Busters was delayed due to an issue with the unfortunate name of the main character’s dog. Not sure what the status is at the moment.

Does anyone know where a squadron’s “Mae Wests” were stored? In other words, when pilots were getting prepared for “readyness” or for a mission, where would they have gotten their vests from? Dispersal?
Michael Tuck confirms the family does remember the penny, however its whereabouts are unknown. They have vague rcollections of it going to a private collector, possibly the same person who acquired Tuck’s original logbook. For the record, Tuck (sadly) sold off a number of personal war-related items later in life, including his decorations.
Cheers.
Hi friends. This question regarding The Penny is something I meant to ask the Tucks during our meeting, but neglected to do (probably something to do with the surreal experience of being in the home of one of my hero’s children).
Anyway, have sent a letter to Michael with the question and will let you know what he says. I’m curious about it myself. Would be great if by some chance it’s still around and we could use it as a prop in the film!
Working on that.
Sorry, a bit late to this party, but here’s the most recent update on Flying Tigers I could turn up:
Memorial
I had the honour of visiting Tuck’s memorial at the beginning of this year, as well as a meeting with the Vicar who gave the service. Turns out the Vicar is a fan of the era.
Hello again! Hope everyone’s well.
Does anyone know how posting assignments were delivered back in those days? Verbally? In an envelope?
Thanks
Thanks for the info, interesting pages.
Greetings again, gentlemen.
I must trouble you with another question. Regarding gunnery practice, can anyone supply me with information or pictures pertaining to targets, either ground-based or towed?
As always, thanks for any assistance.
“…I may have a pocket book that was published around 1943…”
Thanks Rad, and any help is appreciated! I’d love to see it.
AND, Happy New Year everyone! I’ll probably start pestering you with questions next week.
