The F-35 is far more important to the US then the F-22.

It will fly further, carry a greater variety of weapons, has greater payload, and will have a better combat system.

The F-22 has an edge in raw performance but its milspec computer limits its growth potential. The F-22 is a great fighter, but multi-role aircraft such as the F-35 are far more useful in the modern combat arena.

Thats is interesting. Its smaller, single engined, surely has smaller weapons bays and less internal fuel.

Then again I suppose that with one engine it uses less fuel.

Still can’t see it as being overall ‘better’ than the F22 although the core tech will of course be a generation ahead.

Personally Moggy I think that the money being invested in Scotland is by way of repairing some of the damaged caused by the Tories.

I know this issue and disagree. When asked my nationality I always say British although strictly speaking I am English (and proud of it by the way). But in truth Scotland got it pretty bad before this government, especially under Margaret Thatcher and the conservatives. This time around it is the English getting short shrift. Not an ideal situation but it is quite literally swings and roundabouts.

That said, if Scotland elects to break away then the matter will be completely different. If that happens then as far as I am concerned they are on their own and I will begrudge every penny they claim thereafter.

Until that day however, we are a single nation, Scotland is part of the UK and necks shoud be wound right in.

Yes, but I havent heard anything new related to integration of larger fuel tanks or CFTs. Also, CFTs are not really optimal for fighter ops.

No they are ‘generally optimised’ for strike operations rather than fighter operations but optimal does not mean ‘exclusive to’. CFTs are also very useful for fighter operations and wouldn’t strictly speaking be removed if the only weapons being carried are air to air missiles. In fact if CFTs are being used then more air to air missiles can be loaded and there will be more fuel to make best use of them.

I know this only addresses one of your concerns as I haven’t heard any more about the CFTs either. Its all about time and money and priorities. If it happens it will happen in its own good time but thats not the same as saying ‘its never going to happen’. 🙂

ur theory is obsolete. According to Mikhail Pagsoyn. Su-34 is Missile Proof. and can destroy incoming missiles (which can have any meaning like destroying the electronics)
So u cant destroy it with missile. ur only hope is gun and there it has protection.
and than It can destroy hardened structures at 250KM range. So it means it has either very big warhead or high speed speed missiles. So it can directly go to airbase and destroy aircraft on ground. and more over. Russia is working on Project 810. 360 sec long range hypersonic missiles. so it will negate the supercrusie advantage. as bigger high speed missile does not need that extra energy of supercrusie.
