As a film Braveheart is well made I grant you that. It is not a bad film per se (scuse my French, you have better English) but it just annoys me. Mel Gibson was on a chat show here in Britain claiming to be a celt. Well fine but I can just imagine him calling me a Saxon (not saying this is a bad thing, I just see myself as more Celtic) because I was born in England. It seems to be how he views all people who live and work in England. Its called a double standard and there is no way you could put him straight because he simply would not listen.
I agree, it is not a bad film, but I can’t watch it, or the Patriot, because Mel Gibson has got it all wrong. His portrayal of the British during the Independance War was way out of line and totally inacurate. He is an inteligent man and I like him, all he has to do is read up on what really happened. The fact that he doesn’t suggests that he has his preconceptions about my country and will not brook any argument. You should see how the French were portrayed in Patriot. In reality France was instrumental in the American victory yet he reckons they didn’t turn up until the fighting was done and dusted. I lost a bit of respect for the bloke after those films.
I’m sorry but Nicole Kidman does indeed ‘do it’ for me. Most of the time anyway. Good luck to them and Lenny deserves her he is a dude.

How can you knock Braveheart? That is probably the most accurate historical film made in the last 15 years. Very accurately depicting William Wallace vs Edward II and the austere living circumstances of the 1400s.
If you are going to make a historical epic at least make it historical. If Mel Gibson did not hate the British (the English in particular) quite so much the spin would have been easier to swallow. It wasn’t spin he used though it was sh1t and I ain’t swallowing any of that. Go back to what you do best Mel and get off the political trip you have far too many issues, 700 year old issues at that.
Worst films every Highlander film after the first one. ‘There can be only one’ and in my world there is only one Highlander film the rest are big sweaty knickers.

I can fart and belch at the same time. Thats got to be worth a 10.
Okay maybe not, Wild Horses roaming across the BATUS range (Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada) near an old impact crater (Extra terrestrial not munitions). At the same place I saw 100 shooting stars in one night accompanied by the Northern Lights. Later followed by the biggest firepower demo I have ever been involved in.

Mostly sims here I’m trying out Linux though so it will be a while before I give Bill Gates little masterpeice the big heave ho. Games I am running are FS2002 and 2004, Strike Fighters and IL2 FB. I am also running Civ3, Medal of Honour. Games to buy? Well I always liked the look of HALO but never had an X-Box (wife wouldn’t let me) so it nice to see it ported to PC. Also LOMAC is on the horizon so that will have to be purchased too. Having said all this I don’t get an awful lot of time to do gaming these days so I can go for months without touching some of them. Nice to have them about though for when I am feeling ‘in the mood’.

I read a bit of DD when it was run briefly in 2000AD. This CGI jobbie, is it British made?

During WWII the Hurricane actually had more kills than the spit!
Hurricanes did shoot down more Germans than the Spit in the BoB but not WW2. Although I think that is what you meant.
