Just going back breifly to Pendennis’s thread, in the Midlands the town of Alcester is pronounced Olster and Worcester is pronounced Wuster. My problem (apart form my temper if I think somebody is flaming my opinions) is my grammar. I know few people who speak almost perfect English, my wife does but she has qualifications coming out of her ears so you expect it after a fasion. My spelling isn’t always good either I would likely use the ‘might of’ example rather than the correct ‘might have’ if I am not concentrating which is another weakness of mine.

If I am not sure about my spelling and can’t be bothered to go and check it I tend to appologise for the mistake in the narrative. And taliking of narrative mine needs to be modified because we are expecting our first baby and mine is currently a little bit too colourful. Its loud too but all in all I don’t think my written English is all that bad.

    Not in any order:

    Dr Strangelove.
    Battle of Britain.
    Dark blue world.
    Dambusters.

I have to say I do like Top Gun for the arial sequences.

Did anybody see the film adaptation of ‘Trinity’s Child?’ Chilling but good. It had James Earl Jones in it but I can’t remember the name of the film, it wasn’t Trinity’s Child.

Also I saw a very good film a short while back about the USAAF 8th Air Force. Considering it was an old black and white film, the acting and the arial sequences were better filmed than Memphis Belle, extremely atmospheric and the worst thing is I can’t remember the name of the film.

    Reach for the sky.
    Angels 19

    Can’t think of any more.

If a cat has kittens in a stable you don’t call them horses, If your parents are english so would you have been regardless of what the paperwork said

If a Nazi disagrees with you and then gets into power, perhaps its time to leave your own country. Or should you fight back?

I think I would fight back so here goes…………….

You have your opinion mate it doesn’t mean you are right. I’m British, you will just have to live with it.
