I had the good fortune to help out the WW1 display on the Easter Friday and Easter Sunday.Quite a change from the WW 2 stuff I generally help out with.
My first time seeing the Camel. What a distinctive sound it makes. Not unlike an aero engine only running on half a magneto!!
Unfortunately on the Easter Sunday we had a mishap with the F2 B. Which you may have seen if you were there.
Do you have any shots of the Triplane from your lofty pirch?

Just Look at the P-40 Yeeehaaa
Some fantastic pictures there Alex.Welcokme to the board.
When did you take the pictures from the F2 B ?
The Dr1 Triplane was built in the 1980’s by Stu Tantrum. Peter Jackson owns other WW1 type aircraft based at Omaka in Blenheim.
The problem with the LA-9 was the actuator rod on the trim tab on the rudder broke and trim tab departed from rudder. The aircraft landed safely after being checked in the air by Cliff Goldspink in the Hurricane.
I too am winging my way to Wanaka tomorrow (Thursday).Looking forward to seeing the show and catching up with a few friends.Hopefully I will be able to spend some time on the other side of the fence helping out with some of the aircraft.
Final displays of the Breitling Team. They were fantastic at DX this year and Legends in 2002!
Its going to Great!!

The OFMC Corsair is now at Ardmore .Will be departing about Wednesday next week sometime. The OFMC P-40 is also there and will go about same time ,I guess.
I enjoyed seeing the Shuttleworth Gladiator at Legends in 2002.Seeing two of them at legends 2004 would be nice.
I guess the TFC Gladiator has some way to go.
What gives for that answer. Is the P-38 not coming to legends by then?
Will the TFC P-38 be ready by then??,be nice to see that at Legends!
I believe that the Percival Gull is now in New Zealand, located at the Auckland International Airport.

I am unaware of the AT-6 having the “flying characteristics of a sack of spuds under certain conditions”.Like most(all) aircraft when you go out of the flight envelope, you can get yourself into trouble ,no matter if your flying a Cessna 150 ,AT-6 or perhaps B747 .
For instance the approach speed for the AT-6 is about 90 knots ias,(short finals 75-70KTS) . For a short field approach its about 65 KT ias.If you go below 65 KTS and your low and missuse the controls (and consider weather factor) ,your setting yourself up for some real problems.
The AT-6 afterall is a trainer, to prepare the pilot for more powerful aircraft, ie Spitfire ,P-51 mustang or Vampire and so on.Fly the aircraft in a safe proffessional manor and its docile. But it will bite the careless and fool hardy.
From my point of view I would take BR601 over the swapped identity of MH367.any day.Sometimes as noted on this thread they change identitys/airframes with P-51 ‘s.I cant reason seeing a new P-51 with a data plate from a wreck(ie wraped up in a ball)and then saying it has a combat history .
Are the ‘Arnold Spitfires coming out of hybernation any time soon?
I am thinking of NH238 ,but they have some others as well dont they?
Also ML417 is located in the States..Chino .Is this ong term/permanant location .Or coming back to the U.K at some point?
