Chicken hawk is an excellent read, though won’t tempt me, all of those bits of metal whizzing around !

Dale Brown does kill some of them off in Old Dog but if you keep reading his novels some off them ain’t dead yet !!

Stephen Coonts is an excellent author just not at the top of my list.

finally for now what about Clive Cussler ? Where else can you read about Dirk Pitt and his trusty sidekick performing dogfights against a WW1 Albotross in a Catalina ?

All his books tend to be nautically biased save the world from tyronney but always include aircraft and are good reads.

i saw it, very good it was well.
And by all accounts the only remaining Mk1 anywhere i hope they manage to bring the
    rest up.
The sunderland Mk1 had sunk in a bad storm after the anchor had been torn out of its mounting. Prompting a redesign and the MK2 ?
The museum is just across the river from there i think, yet another place on my list to visit now. the list never seems to get shorter though !

Does anyone know how old that program is, wether the engine is restored yet ?

looks like another attempt to waste millions of dollars to me.

i jokingly suggest i could save them millions of dollars, research ? development? all completly unneccesary all they should do is get hold of a copy of Dale Browns Hammerheads he has already converted them for them all they would have to do is fit it. about as far fetched as it actually happenning………

i don’t doubt for a second that preserving the rare ones is the better choice, shacks may not be rare yet but they will be surely, that wasn’t my point anyway.the point was the paint scheme.

coincidently , exactly how many shacks are there left now?

i know of air atlantiques two………. coventry and the U.S
    that coke one…….
what happenned to that South African one that crashed ?
