Thanks for reminding on Klinok, I was lazy to do that;) In fact, Udaloy, Kulakov and Vasilevsky were the most outrageously underarmed BPKs, as Klinok was never installed on them.
As to being “garbage” – that’s a really tall statement. There are very few SAMs in the world which can be compared with Klinok in anti-PGM mode.

Navalized S-400, codename Krepost’ (Fortress). If there are going to be new destroyers in RuNavy they wiil have it.

2 ) What happened to the plan to build 2 more unfinished Oscar-2 to upgrade standards ? Any news on existing Oscar-2 upgrade and weapons system package ?

Gorshkov – “UKSK” VLS for Klub, Brahmos or whatever, A-192M single 130mm, 2 Palma CIWS, Redut-K SAM hopefully with Poliment although it may take some years to get it work properly, same story as with Kinzhal in the beginning of 80’s.

Yasen is in the same stage as YD was after her “launch” in 2007 – undergoing same procedures, just wasnt moved to floating dock. Will be launched in second half of 2010.

There are actually 3 unfinished Oscars. Belgorod may be finished as LACM platform, as for other two – “Don’t try to understand Russia, you can only believe in her” 😀

Will the Soobrazitelny still retain the KASHTAN gun/missile defense system? Or will it be fitted with the new SAM system (Poliment or whatever it is called)?

Redut-K (9M96 missile) instead of Kortik . No Poliment radar, target acquisition by Furke. 9M96 has AR terminal.
