Russia moves Bulava missile production to alternative plant

This is absolute BS. Russia has only one location for production of Bulava (a solid fuel strategic missile) – the plant in Votkinsk. There are no alternatives at present. To have one, Russia either builds a new plant or modifies one, let’s say in Krasnoyarsk.
What this MAY mean is that manufacturer of 3rd stage of Bulava (which is liquid fuel) has been changed.

That may be true as regards radar fit. However, the shape and layout of underlying structure doesn’t appear different from that of Kuznetsov.

From models and drawings, I’m expecting the Podberiozovik+Fregat combo to show up on India’s P17s and Vikramaditya.

The shape is almost the same, but there are no cutouts for installing PA on Varyag’s superstructure.

If that’s a genuine pic, those are the areas where Mars-Passat radar ‘billboards’ would have been.

Varyag was redesigned without Mars-Passat. Forum instead (Podberiozovik+Fregat).

Belgorod isn’t complete, and never will be though.

    Wait and see

Aha …….. so what is made up there

Does the bolid missile exist and is a ramjet variant of Granit , to be fitted to modified Oscar 2 ?

Does Project 949AM exist in any form or as part of Oscar 2 upgrade ?

Some sources have attributed Bolid to sub launched variant of Yakhont

    Thanks

Bolid was a Granit follow-on, allegedly cancelled in 1994.
Project 949AM exists in form of Belgorod.

Things are Indeed looking Bright for the Indian Navy.

The ATV is going to be launched later this month or early next month

    http://livefist.blogspot.com/2009/07/historic-atv-launch-imminent.html

That picture seems to be quite in line with the one which was published some time ago in some magazine. And also is out of proportion in the same way.

BTW, I liked the “Restricted” sign on top:D

Russian CNO is going to be replaced soon. He visited the IMDS very subdued, not interested, trailing Ivanov. His fountain of remarks confirm this, see his predecessors.

Got the same scanned copy of the paper from secretproject , what is the sub model that Ivanov is being presented with ? Doesnt look like Borei , Is this Yasen ?

Can some one read whats written there in Russian ?

Perhaps a better scanned (high res ) copy of the model ?

A slightly better photo and in color

What is the real submerged displacement of Borei , Janes puts it as 18,000T and some others put it at 24,000T , some back of paper calculation based on known figures of dia/length leads me to believe it is 24,000T submerged , but I could be wrong as well.

Any authoratative source of Borei surfaced and submerged displacement ?

    Only speculations for now.
I believe it to be closer to 24k, because of double hull. On the other hand – the first Borey is built using a lot of parts from canibalized 971 and (possibly) 949A. How this impacts the final weights – I don’t know. It is a massive boat, anyway.

The shape of the sail is odd – has it always been like that and my eyes have simply been deceiving me previously, or did it not used to splay out forward as it does now?
Other than that, it’s great to see her (or him if I remember my Russian vessel pronouns currently) underway! Now all s/he needs is some actual deterrent…

The shape of the sail hasn’t changed. The inward angle is for enhancing operation of mine-hunting sonar which is installed in front part of the sail. The form was evaluated on Akson-2 (yankee pod)

    Are you serious ?
I know of Makeev Design Bureau proposing something similar for next gen of SLBM , but not sure if Sineva has that capability .

how do they keep a check on the complex part of engine fuel values , pipes etc ?

That’s what they claim. I’m afraid the details will be classified. According to them – thorough manufacturing procedure and monitoring has provided that only 3 leaks have occured of several hundred missiles produced.
