Thanks snake76 , I am also quite baffled that they are opting for Uran , According to the Indo-Russia Brahmos deal , Both Navies would be inducting Brahmos in their respective fleet , So there is a good chance they may opt for Brahmos in VLS or Angled launcher, Well they even have Klub systems
Information on actual weapon suite is quite controversial and rumours circulate on Russian forums that her sisterships may have Kinzhal and Brahmos instead of Kortik and Uran, AK-630Ms may be changed to Palma. As I said, we’ll have to wait till June. I’ll try to get to SPB, so there may be a chance to talk with people on spot.
The bulb on the top covers Furke multipurpose PPAR for search, track and firecontrol. If You go there:

in the Russian Navy thread I posted the picture and specs of the radar.
below that in that mast/superstructure currently is Garpun-Bal and Gorizont nav radars. Passive channel of Garpun is in the small bulbs just beside. The radar in front is 5P-10 Puma gun FCS. The ship has ZvezdaM2 bulb sonar forward and may have Vinyetka TAS. Weapons: big gun – A-192M (the same as on Astrakhan), Kortik, 8 Urans amidships (may be installed after trials), 2 AK-630M, 1 Ka-27. When (and if) we see her at the Naval show in SPB in June this year, there will be more info, for sure. At least she is scheduled to be there.
…general arrangement and layout drawings or pictures of the Novik class (Project 12441) frigate.
This seems to be alluding me, perhaps I’m looking in the wrong places. Google is turning up articles and references, but none of them seem to have any visuals….
You can even by a 1:700 model from KomBrig now.
How is the Neustrashimy class viewed by the Russian Navy and the rest of the world? Three were being built but only one was completed and the other two were scrapped. Is there a ship that Russia is currently building that is superior to the Neustrashimy? One last question. Why doesn’t Russia use the Klinok system on more of her ships?
Thanks for any help
Project 1154 is regarded quite well. It has a good sonar and ASM, plus helicopter. The ship of course was not meant for Baltic Sea, the sonar suite is too powerful for that, they were meant to be spread evenly between Pacific and North Fleets. Currently Russia is building a Pr.22350 frigate which should be superior. Kinzhal (export designation Klinok) is a good self defence system, just a little too bulky to be fitted to ships under 3000 ton displacement in any significant numbers.
Have You ever seen a Babelfish translation? Then have a look first and calm down.
i would guess that this picture shows decoy launchers from israel most likely 115 mm launchers from rafael. the srboc launchers look different.
The Rafael launchers also doesn’t match exactly, but You may be right
Official doctrine in Russian:

They might be Loral Hycor Super RBOC Mk. 36 chaff launchers, at least 4 six-pack launchers is the usual suite of that system. Russian, Italian, French and Israel chaff launchers have different configuration and number of tubes.
Hello Snake65
Excellent drawings!!!!

You’re welcome:D
Is the ship in question a version of the project 82 heavy cruiser or the pr. 25 battleship?
The ships in the pics actually are an independent design. Nevertheless, at the same time (1947 or 48) CKB-17 carried out a design proposal SK-17 to arm Project 82, 83 and 68 bis with similar launchers. In that case one of the versions of Pr.82 was going to carry 4 triple trainable turret type launchers with a total of 295 10XH missiles, for instance.
If You are interested, I can post here pictures of proposed launchers and turrets as well.
These are design studies at CKB-17 in the end of 1940s, they are centered mainly around 10X, 14X and 16X (Soviet derivatives of Fi-103)
While we’re on the subject, does anyone have pics of the unit that was transfered to the TNI-AN in the 60’s? I have searched for pics of it even in Australian museums as I know some were taken but I have not found any yet.
Do You mean after it was transferred? I’ll have to look around.
