Great photo of Peter the Great.
Near South Africa.
Snake,
Little lazy to search more. Can you please provide some spec and details for the sub. If it is meant as rescue module for submarines during trials, we can also consider it as an operational units which can be air-transported during emergencies.
The thingy is a Universal Rescue Container, described as a rescue capsule for the technical personnel which is on-board during tests and is surplus to the normal crew, therefore can not be accomodated in the standard rescue chamber. It is attached to the aft rescue hatch of the sub.
The container can hold 30 people. Dimensions 6.5 long and 2.6 in diametre, displacement 25 tons.
Are these meant for basing on the pr.21300 Igor Belousov submarine rescue vessel? proper translation?

No. These are going to be piggybacked on a sub during sea trials.
What did the banner say?
7 feet under the keel and bon voyage
Vikra farted hard a few days ago. No fire, situation was controlled within 5 minutes. Starting sea trials sometime this month.
Heat insulation burning, no open fire.
Leaving on 8th June, 2 am.
BoGo – they are both project 21631.

Admiral Grogorovich, Admiral Essen behind it. The other ship is the Yasan.
Yantar (Янтарь), not Yasan.

Looks like they have finally come to a compromise over the price of new Boreis.
124 billion rubles for 5 SSBNs for now. Prices may be revised in 2015.
Price WILL BE REVISED in 2015. Because OSK already wanted 130 billion.
Self-censorship by some of the guys who make the photo’s.
Yes indeed and hope they are all now club capable.
And which is the submarine in the back? Hope it is the next in line for upgradation?http://pics.livejournal.com/kuleshovoleg/pic/000ehgzx

Vladikavkaz
😉
056 launched
They are gradually cutting down the numbers, last year it was a hundred. Getting more realistic after the elections.
Bits from two 949A are intended for 4th and 5th Borey, probably something will be left over for the 6th. 885M should be completely new builds, hard to say when the second will be laid down.

I have doubts if UGST and Fizik-1 are the same torpedoes , UGST has been operational for nearly a decade now , see no reason why it would delay the test of Yasen.
UGST and Fizik-1 are essentially the same. The interesting fact is that although UGST has been present at naval shows for the last ten or so years, it still hasn’t been formally accepted by the RuNavy. This is one of the reasons why acceptance of Severodvinsk was delayed – extensive tests with multiple launches of Fizik-1 torpedo and sub-launched Onyx missile are to be carried out from Severodvinsk this year.
