    Which ships are on the photo? Are these Kolkata, Kochi, and Chennai (P15A destroyers)? And which are the two ships behind?

    Yes, all three unfinished P-15A. Don’t know the two behind.

    That one can be translated as Solo Mission, the land-based cruise missile launch sequence was shot in Crimea, Balaklava base.

    At least they’ve got the uniforms more or less right, when watching some of th Bond movies or Red Dawn or whatever, the only suitable description for Soviet uniforms was – OMFG! 😀 Arnie was great as a Russian cop as well 😀

    Thanks for reply. Could you please explain how admiral Vysocky affect choosing of CIWS?

    IMHO at least first three Russian 11356-7 or whatever is the designatian of class will get VL Shtil + AK-630M combo (mayby price issue and could be also topweight concerns – if 12 UKSK VLS will be used).

    He has his preferences. And makes decisions accordingly.

    It’s hard to say definitely. The technical project is not finalized. The current construction is done in accordance with Indian project.

    What is the hold up with naval Pantsyr i remember seeing pictures of it being tested in late 90s.

    Snake, may I ask for your source on this? So far have seen only speculations what the ships might look like, so I am eagerly looking for something more serious…
    Compared with plaquetes of the first two ships, VLS Shtil is OK, but Palma/Palash not and RBU-6000 is missing…

    Also curious if future VMF warships (Pr. 22350, 11356 mayby) will use Palash as originaly stated or newer Palitsa (naval Pantsir) instead of it. :confused:

    22350 is getting Palash, 113567 – either AK-630M, Palash or Kortik-M, depending for how long Adm.Vysocky will stay in the office. Palitsa is still some distance away for the same reason.

    Russian term is OKR – R&D phase. I sincerely hope that they will get to the flight test phase in not too distant future.

    Yes. The problem is that many weapon systems are present in export version only, like VLS Shtil-1 (seen on 054A), Palma (Vietnam Gepards), A-190M, there’s no 12 cell UKSK. There are no modern 533mm torpedoes for surface ships, so TTs are also somewhat redundant. Things may change after Adm.Vysocky has retired though.;)

    Latest update for 113567:
    32 cell Shtil VLS, 12 cell UKSK, 1 A-190M, 2 Palma, 2×2 TTs .

    Vikram model had no updates since last IMDS. It will have only AK-630’s installed, like the second batch of Indian 11356 (presumably Barak-1 to be added in India).

    Regarding the sub prices. Adm.Vysocky is qouted saying that Sevmash demands 112 billion RUR for second Pr.885 compared to 47 billion for the lead boat. Accordingly, Def.Min. Serdyukov is qouted saying that Sevmash demands 347 billion instead of 112 for the new boat. There seems to be something mixed up with the numbers. Apparently, Sevmash is being accused of artifitial inflation of the prices, by including in them their losses from unfinished contracts as well as non-production related expenses.

    Do you understand what a mock-up is? 9M100 is still in the mock-up stage.

    9M100 is the second missile from the left, 9M96 the third.

    This is wishful thinking. This is AA missile, which is considered as prototype for 9M100.

    Those technological hatches are more like built for but not with capability , they would provide future upgrade potential possibly for Big Missile of S-400 missile if required.

    The forward ones – possibly.

    Snake65 i could see lot of VLS cells on Gorshkov frigate , VLS cells even amid ship how many SAM and Anti-ship missiles does it carry ?

    These are just technological hatches. There are 28 cells for 9M96/9M100(whenever that comes to life) and 16 cells for AShM.
