Canbera and Two Hunters, Low level, just below scuddy cloud base heading South. Straight over Wing Farm Airfield, Warminster, Wilts..

    Fantastic Sound as they approached.

    Regards
    Mark

They landed here at B/mth Hurn. Canberra then went off on it’s own to Jersey before returning and they’re all displaying at Goodwood tomorrow. 🙂

Can anyone tell me where the two will depart from for Sundays (todays) visits to Old Warden, Gransden and Bourne airfield?

They are departing from Bournemouth airport at 13.05 for today’s displays and flypasts; landing back at Coningsby approx 16.10.

Watched them land here at Bournemouth earlier this afternoon, followed shortly by the Spitfire and Hurricane duo.
    Great sound. 😎

Heard the distinctive sound of a Merlin and spotted Mustang KH774 circling high around Hurn a few minutes ago.

Yes, you can almost guarantee it’ll go something like “if plane part A, can’t be removed from plane part B, in the next 5 mins then the whole move could be in DANGER!” *cue increasingly loud dramatic music before cut to ad break*. 😀

Well if it gets grounded at least it means I’ll have a few extra quid in my pocket each month to spend on more beers instead. :very_drunk:

I’m damn sure Elvington would keep it’s wheels* firmly on the deck and wouldn’t paint it a stupid pink colour so they get my vote. :eagerness:

    *(it’s main wheels at least)

When the end is near the money left should offer to buy a hanger to house the old girl & Elvington has the space for it.:eagerness:

I doubt there’d be any money left, certainly not enough to buy a hangar.

What about ground running her? Is anyone interested having her as a ground runner?

VttS were talking about ground running it at Doncaster and having an education centre, but I couldn’t see that working as surely their finances (and future finances) wont cover the costs.

As I said, I’d probably like to see it go to Elvington as they seem a pretty decent bunch who’d look after it as a ground runner, presuming they’d want a Vulcan of course.

Anyway, it’s not grounded yet so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of months.

Trouble is once retired it simply becomes another dead airframe sitting rotting away, the massive public donations it manages to drum up now from people that “pay” to see it fly will equally dry up as it become just another one of the many.

Yup, I simply can’t see public donations funding a grounded aeroplane, and I know once it’s wheels touch down for the final time at some distant airfield, my monthly donations will cease.

The problem VttS have is there’s never enough money in the kitty to have any kind of fallback plans, so I think it’ll end up a case of it goes wherever someone offers it a home.
Personally I’d prefer that to be Elvington, where at least it’d be looked after and kept running a few times a year.

You’re right. Making his debut it would seem.

Don’t think anyone can display Miss D quite like Jonathon though. He really was a hero at B/mth these last few days.

Not sure if Ben has flown any shows this year.
