I was think the same sort of thing myself JagRigger. Did the u/c just tuck away first time for the outward journey or did it need a bit of persuasion?
Shame, but looked like the pilot handled the situation very well. I got banned from UKARse for my comment to someone who should know better!
The way that forum goes about deleting posts that don’t meet their own agenda is quite shocking, and it’s no wonder they’ve got such a bad reputation amongst enthusiasts and operators.
With regards to the incident, I’d agree that the pilot seems to have handled that very well indeed, getting the aircraft down like that with so little time to react.
The 727 is back up and about from Hurn this afternoon.
Cracking stuff guys. 😎
Probably one the most embarrassing, shameful examples of armchair experts mud-slinging ever to disgrace a forum, that thread.
Totally agree with you there Blue_2, but it’s not widely known as UKARSE for nothing. 😀
Earlier we had the magnificent sight of the Sea Vixen flying overhead in the late evening sun. 😎
Flew out along the coast and then went for a bit of a jolly over Cowes before returning.
Mike, you say the Facebook page could be an unofficial fanpage, but surely it’s run by the company if the engineer who posts here (Credible Sport) is effectively saying he’s been gagged and Facebook is the only way of getting information now?
Whoever it is, they definitely seem to have some inside information, but also are prone to posting a lot of misinformation too. I notice on some other sites that Shoreham have vehemently denied any Sea Vixen booking for their airshow.
Sea Vixen displays at Shoreham Airshow, Bournemouth and Jersey were listed on the Farcebook page yesterday, but seem to have disappeared now.
All very odd.
The 727 is back up and about from Hurn again.
Tuesday was a good day for spotting old T-tails at Hurn, with a visit from a VC-10 and the 727 flying around. 😎
Very sorry to hear that CS. You’ve seemed a far more reliable source than that farcebook page has been tbh.
Thanks for the all the info you’ve given up to now, and all the best.
Saw the Vixen going back and forth between Hurn and Yeovilton today so any further news on how the display workup went and Matt’s DA? 🙂
Cheers.
Good news. Be nice to see it flying at a display sometime.
Pretty sure the ones pictured were put out for static display at Air Day last weekend, along with that Phantom.
Oh, that’s good old youtoob processing speeding it up at around the 15s mark if that’s what you mean, although it doesn’t seem to do it every time, and he did actually swing round at the end of the runway pretty sharpish. 🙂
