Here’s a bit of video of the mighty beast taking-off from Hurn this afternoon to transit to Yeovilton.
Hope you enjoy, and please forgive a bit of camera wobble.
Just had a load of these ‘vintage’ red hawk jets fly over the house here. Lovely 😀
Many thanks for the clarification CS.
I certainly thought it was very doubtful he’d be able to display fly soon, so was rather taken aback by the facebook announcement of a Saturday display.
Hope it all goes well with the work up next week.
Hi CS. Congrats to you and the team with the flights yesterday. Great stuff. 😀
I see the Facebook page is saying that Saturday will now be the first display. Does that mean Matt will be getting his display authority on Friday at Yeovilton or are you just going there as a static exhibit and doing the display work up next week?
Cheers.
Seems they went off to Yeovilton this time for some aerobatics.
Back down at Hurn again now.
It’s up again! 😎
Came back a few minutes ago for some approaches.
Couple more from the garden.

Seems to have flown off now, probably for some more thorough testing.
Just from the garden.

Just doing some slow circuits overhead. 🙂
The Sea Vixen is airborne! 😎
The new Permit to Fly has been issued, so one problem sorted! 🙂
Thanks for the info CS.
Good to hear that Matt is back flying again. 🙂
She doesn’t have a ‘Permit To Fly’ so until she gets one — no flying.
I think it is a case of wishful thinking or, more likely, the person maintaining the facebook site being misinformed.
Was the lack of permit the reason for the no flight again today or was there another problem? The facebook page was saying a late afternoon flight after the ground runs, but then later posted flight canx again.
The way I understand it, since the pilot hasn’t flown the Vixen for about 4 years
So is Matt Whitfield back as pilot then?
Cheers. 🙂
So you’re still maintaining it’s only taxi runs while facebook continues with saying it’s flight testing.
Some crossed wires here me thinks.
