Thank you, yes Tony Banfield, from Lancaster to harvards after his retirement. Another real gent
I would second that, I had the pleasure of sharing a drink with Tony in the mess at at RAF Conningsby. At the time he was OC BBMF, we also discussed a mutual interest in the VC-10 Tanker, as Tony was one of the test pilots whilst he was at Boscombe Down. At the time I was the planning manager on the second batch of conversions. Small world really …..
Also I cannot remember the BBMF wing co pilot of the Lancaster who flew the Zeke also.

No record of any Wessex carrying codes for Fearless – neither ‘FS’ nor ‘SQ’ (where did that one come from??)
I have had another look, the SQ is not the Fearless deck code it is actually short for Squadron.
Sorry for starting a myth

There are quite a few here including HMS London (LO & LN), HMS Fearless (SQ), HMS Glamorgan (GA), HMS Hermes (H)
HMS Devonshire was “DV”

Thanks, not heard of that one but seen the effects in the very sorry looking F-100 and Mystere at Headcorn. I was looking at them on Sunday. They need putting out of their misery. I know at least one museum needs some parts from them.
ITAR is not the problem here but the loan system with the NMUSAF and the lack of anyone in the system who is prepared tomake a decision that will allow any of the loan aircraft move to new locations
I understand that it has gone to Cosford
Thunderbird,
Great, good info, but do you have any dates?
It was certainly at Monkton Farleigh in 1989

I will see if I can find the details of when it moved. From memory at the time, officially it was only moved for restoration however Defence Sales intervened once everything was underway and a deal was done for it to be disposed of by Private Treaty.
WF825 went from Lyneham to the Avon Aviation Museum at Monkton Farleigh from there it went to Yatesbury along with the Javelin
De Havilland, Mosquito, FB.Mk.VI HR220 Bomber Command, No. 613 (City of Manchester) Squadron RAF, _NW Germany

Primarily NH341 according to Aerolegends
I believe some were, but the ones I remember most were “driven” by Mark and Ray Hanna (those were the days when I got up early on Sunday mornings).
Goldilocks
The Bearcat, Wildcat and P38 were all bound for Duxford in 1991/92 and the Corsairs & Avengers were in 1988-1989, so probably Doug Arnold
