Aircraft 146 is at the North East Aircraft Museum
Might I sugest a pm to member “AMB” who would probably know
The plan is for the aircraft to be in the yellow colours of Northeast Airlines which operated Tridents from Newcastle. Although this is not a scheme worn by G-ARPO the other schemes are already represented on other aircraft at Duxford and Manchester.
Four for me
Tony Agar’s Mosquito at Elvington
David Collins recreating the Hornet
The Stirling Project
The last Trident 1C at Sunderland
Regards
IIRC didn’t it end up in Wiltshire at the Dyson HQ, Malmesbury?
Wrong aircraft the Dyson one is XM173

Chris,
Is there any mention in the 55OTU ORB.
If you do not have them I have copies for the period at Usworth but they are not accessible for the next two weeks as I am away from home
Just another thought on the AITCH
This could be a Gift of War name as there was a Spitfire named AITCH AITCH (R7259)
Just another avenue to look at
Are the white flying overalls a hint that it could be the Auxiliaries of (in this case) 601 sq?
The officer certainly has a badge on his jacket that would be about right for the “A” used by the Auxiliaries
Could the AITCH be a shortened version of the surname AITCHISON ?
Was marked in this manner when at Sproughton

Both lions are facing the wrong way apparently
Turkey from memory! I cannot recall the exact details of the Vampire FB.9 saga from St Athan.
See here http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1304156/
The one in Turkey is apparently not the FB.9
Would the Bleriot have been with the collection over 25 years ago as this how long I have had the slides
I suspect that the Vildebeeste photograph is at Thornaby in the late 1930’s as there is an early Anson in the background that I believe to be 608 squadron as there are a number of other 608 squadron slides in the collection
Having googled I found that 42 squadron were at Thornaby during the Munich Crisis in 1936 with Vildebeeste along with 223 squadron with Ansons
Any idea what the last aircraft type is as this might help trace the location
I know the first one is a Gauntlet
