I flew on one from Bristol to Toulouse, when Filton was snowbound, and was one my way to work at Airbus in November 1993

Unless XT148 has been disposed of it was certainly at the museum a few years back.
It was recovered from the dump at Middle Wallop in the late 1990.

Andover with 115 sqn on navaid checking at Benson
I took four cadets flying it was all in the turbulent air. The loadmaster was very kind and gave the cadets a drink of orange squash which did not stay with them for long.
The flight should have been 90 minutes but after 60 minutes that crew decided it would be knder to let the cadets off.
I was asked if I would like to saty for the rest of the flight but as the person in charge of the cadets felt it best that I came off to look after them whilst I still had my lunch.
Best

It is a great pity that Andy has been banned from the forum and other members have decided to leave.
Andy is still active on a number of other forums and I am sure that he appreciates the show of support.
I think, being a vey knowledgeable person he would prefer to see people contibuting here and on other foruums

Graham,
You could contact Spadeadam.
They might be accomodating as they have replaced some of the T-33’s with Jaguars recently.
It may be that the days of the T-33’s are coming to an end given that two were scrapped.
I think it would be a great idea.
We often keep too much to ourselves which then becomes lost in time.
I have benefited from use of the forum as there is a great pool of knowledge .
You just never know who can piece these bits of information together.
We often each have a piece of a jigsaw and the forum is a good place to find the other bits.
Iain,
Thanks for this.
The assumptions on it being 607 sqaudron were from two points:-
The codes being AF:U
The photo came from Canada near where W H Whitty lived after return to Canada.
I must admit that I had not thought about the posibility that it could be the AFDU. I am aware that they also used AF as some of the IWM photos are incorrectly captioned as 607 squadron (They were MkII spitfires if I remember correctly from when I visited the IWM).
Perhaps we need to further look at the location to see if this ties in with Northolt.
Unfortunately the source in Canada has no information on the photograph.
