    Do we need new aircraft?!
We should have gone with Sea Harrier 3.
Don’t mention naval typhoon as i have been on a cadet camp to Conningsby and talked to the Mechs. They said it wouldn’t be the same. Also the thread about this on this site got stoped as it was about 10 pages long with no conclusion!!!
Sea Harrier 3 would have saved an independant FAA and left every thing in house with the Navy!
Who the hell would dispand the RM? They are our RRF and must stay that way with the Paras!!!
The future still is bleak and this can’t be fixed unless we get a good pro-military PM.
Roysth should be the carrier base, Pompy should remain Hq of the RN and Plymouth should become a reinforced hub of the Navy

The outlook to be honest is bleak!!!
We need a fleet air defence and as this has been mentioned on this forum be for i can’t be bothered to go into detail.
CVF will be a huge asset but JSF should have been a European thing between us, the Spanish and the Italians. This would have been a lot better.

Ski Jumps are Brilliant!! As some people may have heard of the US did some tests with F-14 at a ground based insulation in which they tested STOBAR. This idea as many know after the British used it first on the CVS’s and Hermes the ski jump has been put on lots of nations light carriers, the Russian Super Carrier, CVF and the new build Indian Ships. In the Falklands the RAF pilots flying of the Hermes used it to great effect without any sort of prior training.

A very good read is ‘I counted them all out and I counted them all back’ as it shows all aspects of the Falklands and gives a very good account of the conditions the islanders were kept in and the attempts at the carriers. Slightly off the point does any one have an opinion whether the HMS Sheffield did its job by taking the Exorcet that was bound or the Invincible?

    Lads,
Why don’t we wait for the yankes to have a look and then we go from their report.

We should just go with a new build aircraft so that BAe keep their services open and we get something perfect for the navy. Or we just go to Nuclear carriers if we want to be like the yankees.
