Thank you very much for answering my message. I had a quick look at the web site of the isle of Man and will contact the aeroclub by phone or e-mail.
I intend to take the longer route to cross the Channel. Most likely I will be leaving France around Cherbourg and then head towards South West England. I am also interested in landing at aerodromes where the landing fees are not too expensive (unlike Italy for instance) and more like Canada (free most of the time).
I have taken good note of the custom requirements. I am not sure that I understood one point. Can I leaving from a designated airport in England, tell the the Special Branch a few hours before landing at the Isle of Man that I am arriving. My issue is that I would like to leave Albertville and do the trip all at once: flying over France, the Channel, land at a designated airport and then head towards the Isle of Man. by the way, I shall be going with a friend who has family. Does it make any difference?
