Thanks for the news folks, good luck with all that work.
Thank you, well done and many good wishes for your restoration work.
Modest donation made, thanks to all RAAF Beufort crews for their service and remembering the 3 crews of 6 OTU lost in the Jervis Bay collision, 14/4/43, one of the saddest moments I ever saw in media. Did it feature in the film ‘News Front’? I saw that at a very early age and remember being very moved.

A fellow glider pilot Graham Melville (now deceased, RIP) told the story of his WW2 pilot training in Canada, when an Anson made a forced or precautionary landing followed by local newspaper headlines referring to the ‘Mighty Anson Bomber’.
Forgive another “OT” anecdote, but one I think you’ll enjoy; Graham was the most modest of men but had a fantastic number of hours and entries in his Coastal Command logbook, one of which he proudly displayed made in bold red ink by his CO, he having overshot the runway on landing a Flying Fortress at Bluie West One: “Gross error of judgement”. Me: “That would have been a fairly fast over-shoot then Graham?” Graham: “Fast? I’ll say – we fairly pi**ed off the end of the runway!”
One of the most delightful gents I have ever met. God Bless him.

WK577 still alive and well it seems:

Well done and thanks for the T21 update. I am sorry I didn’t get to meet you at Lasham, as ‘visitors’ on the first Saturday, we were restricted to the public viewing enclosure, as we expected, but did get to attend the morning briefing and the afternoon one too. We got the ‘spotters’ tour of the airfield on foot, saw the new vintage glider centre hangar and contents, but it was a windy day and most of you pilots were still arriving or rigging. I hope you had a very good week and all went well for you. Did you soar ?

Thank you for this post, most interesting.
Could I please add the following video, which I thought was ‘delightful’:
WL795, Shackleton AEW2 gate guard is relocating to the collection I was told by a member of staff, last time I was there, and just maybe moved by air-lift unless that’s just wishfull-thinking.
Now, would that be housed in the hangar or stay outdoors, like it now does?
Well done Philip, such things as dreams are made of – congratulations on your fabrication skills as that looks outstanding.
I’ve attached a pic of my set up, usual thing, a collection of Saitek panels flying in loose formation around a wobbly computer desk…
Best of luck with your Yoke requirements – Saitek just wouldn’t cut the mustard really.

What about the Blenheim?
Heading: “Now the Blenheim news update”
Then you start with: “… Now that we have had the Blenheim update …” and say nothing about the Blenheim.
What Blenheim update please, presumably G-BPIV?
Alarm set. Good luck!
Postponed until midnight, via RAF Museum tweet.
Would have said Moss Monaco, but that had a one piece fibre glass body. Not my brightest moment.
I hiope we might get chance to ‘get under your feet’ then – we are just long retired glider pilots now having our soaring fun in Flight Simulator: http://www.ukvga.org – you’ll recognise us, we wear anoraks :apologetic: and we’re meeting up there. Hope you have a great week.
Good luck with a sale! May I ask, will you be taking anything to the VGC Rally at Lasham?
Chap here looking for a Ka-8:
Now there’s a handsome beast – no, I’m talking about the Avia!
