In for a penny…. I’ve been very good honest
I’ll have my own private museum stocked with a variety of aircraft of my choice, including an open to view workshop where replicas are built where originals no longer survive. And survivors are restored to display condition.
In showing that I’ve been a very good boy and will continue to be the museum will be open to the public for a nominal donation towards upkeep and employee costs.
Unlike other US event’s where there has been a flypast, it wasn’t timed for the end of the singing of the anthem.
She looks stunning and a credit to the teams obvious hard work and devotion.
Arriving at Rosyth today.

With the weather apparently set fair, LB04 has started it’s journey to Rosyth, estimated 7-9 days depending on routing.

I would have love to see the YF-23 make it into service over the or alongside of the F-22A. I do think the Sukhoi T-50 was inspired by the YF-23’s design planform and layout.
The USAF are looking for a new bomber… Upscale the YF23 into something B-1B size. 2 pairs of engines rather than just 2 engines giving high sub sonic speeds, internal carriage plus option for non stealthy triple pack of Big Bang munitions under each wing too.
Not quite what the thread is about, but mention of YF 23 brought this to mind.
An MPA AW609, would need development on a newly developed airframe.
The costs would be massive, in comparison to a conventional off the shelf design such as the C295 or others.
Without doing any research I’d also have a concern regarding a tilt rotor in poor weather conditions – those may be unfounded in reality, but the mere thought of taking off in storm conditions either vertically or a running taking off with the rotors at 45 degrees doesn’t do anything for me.
The wider angle shots from out on the airfield really show what a difference the new paint makes.
What’s the blob on it’s nose ?
Welwyn Garden City, is just off a straight line between Middle Wallop and Wattisham. Giving Heathrow and to a lesser extent Northholt a wide berth, and your even closer.
Finally new pictures
