A copy of Barry Jones book on Shackletons arrived today and although it does not show the chairs in discussion it has pics of the met and electronic seats in an MR1 that fit in with the AP.
Rich thank you for taking the time to find the AP and respond.
You also align with my thoughts that match the AP and the britmodeller image from Flambards being a WOPS or radar chair.
Oracal I know it is an Avro chair and that is about all is fact.
It is very similar to the Shackletons pilot seat. But there are a few design changes.
Although there are similarities to the Lanc/Lincoln/York pilots seat it is a step further away.
My issue is that there are very few images inside the MR1/T4. The vast majority of images are from the later versions. There are only two nose sections still around and there are not many images inside.
I think it is a crew seat from an early version -what position I don’t know. It looks simialr to the WOPS in the britmodeller image but could be from any of the crew positions ??
Thank you Sir. A second one with part number S00299 I identified as Vampire from the 00 part number sequence – again in Airframes section.
The combination of Hawker and AW allowed me to narrow it down- It is a spent link chute from a Sea Hawk. It was in the airframe section rather than the armament section.
Moffie attached a picture of the same Lanc part as 2B but showing a part number.
Sorry I dont know about the clamp.
Moffie the part shown in image 2B – the piece on the RHS that is rivetted on to the part should have an inspectors stamp and part number. These are the joiners from ribs to stringers . The Lanc parts I have most of these have the R3 stamp and a part number.
Now back from the upholsterer with new cushions and is really quite comfortable – moving it into my office next..
That means 5 aircraft chairs in the house at the moment.
Pictures of the seat and the C1119 manual. I think this is the pilots seat from the wear on the top RHS.
The date plate shows it was made for FAC in 1952.
This long range seat has recline, height and fore/aft control. I will get new cushions made.
Strange how I keep coming across bits of C119.
I acquired a Hurricane landing light – that turned out to be a C119 wing light.
I have just received a Weber pilots seat dated 1952. The data plate says it was made for Fairchild and with the part number that confirms it to be a C119 pilot/co pilot seat.
But also does not look like 109.
I bought a P40 panel from here last month and the star on it was in acrylics as well as being on an underwing panel between the wheel bay and centre line.
Definitely P40 but not original paint.
I am not convinced this is not from the same source. The stringers dont look like 109; the primer looks British and there is no place on the 109 where there is an external cross brace.
Stamps on an early Spitfire cowl catch- F8 stamps,

Sorry should be more precise – allegedly Whirlwind as he has some other AVRO parts that are roughly ascribed to Whirlwind..
Showing for updated auction finishing on 16th March – prices still interesting…
