Thanks Sea Hawk it is. Thank you to all !
Thank you. Most likely ( from production numbers) it is Sea Hawk. But the AP suggests it was also used on Firebrand Mk 2 – of which only a dozen were made.
Dave so 27H/2542 on page 2 would mean it is from a Firebrand ?
I attach some images
Thank you that answers the question very definitively. Much appreciated!!
Hurrah the forum is still useful…
Thank you to all.
Thanks Alan a note from Rob yesterday said the Wyvern had a differnet hook so it may not have been a general item but type specific.
Bazv – as requested pics of the spares box -for the piston rings for the MAN diesel generators used for in port electrical generation. Confirmed by MAN archive with the shipping confirmation documents to Deutsche Werk at Kiel – just after Adolf had launched her.
I also have a section of Malay teak from the Tirpitz deck – with a plaque on it from Mayor of Tromso to 617 Sqdn.
Recently acquired an engine spares box from the aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin. Okay its Naval but with a hint of aviation…..
Unfortunately the 109T’s and folding wing Ju87’s never arrived as Rader and Goering had a tiff. Perhaps I can count when Gibson and 106 Sqdn Lancasters tried to bomb her as aviation.
A Ju88 part.
You would either need to go through the manuals and look for something similar or look through Ju88.net restoration Or else look up the manufacturer for clues.
The Canadian Lancasters were built by Victory Aircraft at Malton Ontario. A quick google shows the number, dates and differences. Hope this helps.
The airframe parts all come with VA inspectors stamps instead of R3 or RY from UK production.
correction it is the port side as it has the camera hole at front.
This has been on sale for a long time at a silly price.

Decided to hunt down what it is.
English language decal, American dark green paint on inside and and butterfly nuts. Length of 77 cm and aerodynamic in two dimensions.
It is I believe the starboard mount for a P38 drop fuel tank. The post side has a camera in the front.
Still too expensive unless you happen to be restoring a P38 with a drop tank.
No it is not there – but the paint, the inked part number, the same part number sequence means that it is most likely a B17 part but obviously not on this G mark.
Only pay if you download it – to read it should be free.
