This is a piece from a machine dug somewhere near Cardiff ( super Ely ?) is this the same bird ?

Towzer the numbers dont match with anything normal – neither does the shape.
Looking around – the shape is more like the side window of a humber pig than an aircraft. But I assume it would be heavier.
P.S. the Bisley hatch I have also came with a 140 part number

Laurence the Bisley was made by Rootes so the inspector stamps should read R2 then a number below in the circles. That is what I see in the inspectors stamps.

Thank you Mike given the rating as 270 hp RR falcon I had assumed it was post ww1 and likely early 20’s. Pleased to hear that there is a date on some props.
Olly that is the question – whether that is the date or another prop reference.

i was checking to see if the Montfode fuel tanks at Ardrossan were visible- but Scotland is not available.
Good news after cleaning the steel sections I find it bristling with FB numbers. So the cowls were made by Bristol and not Gloster.
