Not ebay but the paint in the rivet holes ; fesh aluminium and incomplete emblem make me very nervous about the authenticity of this one.
These are some of the best images I can find of the panel in a partly removed state from a crashed MkV

Thanks Lee I was sure I could see an 03 in the aircraft code behind the stripes.
Tony as mentioend in this thread – the Japanese Army and Navy had toolboxes specific to each engine type.
Cant say if teh tools were specific or not – but they definitly supplied toolboxes.
Chap on WIX confirms the part number to be that of a Hellcat.
This is definitely a piece of a 109 tail – I know as I sold it on Monday.
We repainted it as it was from a mangled section of tail with no paint/markings etc..
Originally from Germany – thought to be a G but no provenance allowed – sold to Canada and then I bought it from a restorer in Canada a few years back who had used it for a template..
The lettering on the back is our stock code. The sticker we also put on the back has been removed.

I was only assuming that the Bu number written in pencil on the inside was a shorthand for the aircraft with XXX55XXX in its ident. This could just be graffiti..
I attach it as a cut verison. I had originally assumed it was 554 but the last number is not a number but a symbol.
There is a second official stamp with part number and serial number but the latter runs off the edge of the part.
For completness pictures of the rear of the door I have.
Also spotted some part numbers and inspectors stamps.
There are small wheels on the bottom of the extensions to allow it to roll on a lip.
Thank you!
