There is another Seamew advert, in addition to the one posted by Avion Ancien.

If you want more nostalgia on the top LHS go back to Ads Index and waste away a few more hours.
Nicko thank you for the continued updates.
I took delivery of a port wing aileron from a Vampire today. Made by EE at Preston and with original DTD silver on lower and green/grey on upper. If you know of anyone who needs one please let me know.
Thanks
Brian
Trying to ident a sub contracted Spitfire part Inspector stamp I came across this list – no inspector stamps but intuitive to find out what items were made by whom.

A Merry Christmas to all and thank you for the continued presence and answers.
Best Wishes
Brian.

FYI I sent a note to Farnborough and they replied this morning with pictures confirming that they have both seats for the Wasp XV631 cockpit section they have in store. Unlike this one , 617 is stencilled on the back in large numbers on the LHS seat.
Of course it may have come from an earlier refit.
wrt paint are you sure it is not a green primer with black on top as you see in rivet holes.?
Occam’s razor etc.
It may be a part number from the Mk1 but that does not mean it was not also used in later variants. There were many mk1 Halifax parts carried through into the later variants….only when the part was redesigned for a later mark would it have got a new part number .
I assume so. Also the Z is an N on its side.

Attached Lanc canopy drawings – cant see a match for the shape or the construction
Lanc canopy section I had was made from angle aluminium with bolts through the perspex from the outer frame – lots of bolts.
