From the hand shown on the RHS – if it was designed for a pilot – It was by Snow White Industries for her seven colleagues…

Pagen – I was looking through my photos of FAAM from last year – I took lots of photographs of the Avenger then but as a turret was not on my radar – not of that section.

Thank you for clarifying. I will check the pics of the reserve collection now.

    Dan – thanks for replying

On the perspex my initial thoughts are to either get a dome blown singly or to thermo form each of the segments in place. Perhaps using Polycarbonate rather than PMMA. I have some part of my education in plastic processing so I was not worried unduly (yet!). As it is a dome it is probably easier than a Bombers turrets like Elliots.

What i dont know is quite a lot – but includes whether the Amplidyne motors used a toothed drive or a friction drive for the rotation. The vertical movement was via a toothed gear on the Stbd side. The pictures imply mainly roller bearings on a steel track

Does the turret needs to be balanced – the weight of the operator at the rear to offset the armour plate at the front.

As Amplidyne motors are no longer – it would be a modern motor system with electronic controls.

    etc. etc.

    Too Many Flowers

I cannot look at the new Lancaster artwork without getting irritated.

    There are too many flowers!

When I take the original nose art image – expand it play around with darkness, contrast shades etc – however I try it – the flower on the chest is not there!

When comparing with the original Thumper images from Disney – he had a very hairy chest. The two lines on the upper arm which have been interpreted as the bottom of a flower are the bottom of the hairs on Thumpers chest

There are a few other differences – but these can be out down to artistic interpretation.

There is a general aircraft photo and schematic in British Aircraft Armament Vol 2.

I just bought Vol 1 and 2 recently.

Dont laugh – watched Flash Gordon last weekend.

At the beginning he flew out in what looks like a Dove.

Robbie Coltrane was the ground crew! Then at the end it says it was filmed n Skye.

Blue Peter presenter also was the chap killed by the tree insect.

I also happen to know that if anyone has any big lumps of otherwise useless airframe (modern/old or civil/military) then there will be somebody there specifically looking. Not crunched/mashed, but recognisable for whatever they may be; seats, fuselage panels, doors, fins, rudders etc etc etc. They keep asking me if such items will be available.

Oh Dear – does that mean that I have competition..

    Graham – nice looking watch.

Military watch prices have gone very high recently. There are also some stinkers around.

Have you checked it out on the Military Watch Forum ?

Piece of “original” Me-109 nose art (but is it ?)…

    .

The Vintage model boat – the Danish Norske Love he has listed is a Billings Model kit from ca. 20 years ago. I made one when I was a student.

The only question on the panel is whether this is an Alf original or an original.

Good evening sir – Thanks for agreeing. The distance between the ribs also matches the plans. I was told it was an F ?

It had remains of white paint on the lower portion. Absoloutely no markings – but I did not expect any.

The rectangular part has no markings and no holes…
