Hi Brian
That number looks Hawkerish. AW did make seahawks, and possibly Hunters. May well be from one of these machines…
Spot on Elliot, Seahawk it is:

Thanks Elliot – I will research further Hawker – the bolts are fairly chunky and should be visible on any half decent photo.
However – Often the case that the panels I get are bottom panels and not many walkarounds bother to look underneath..
Also been checking and the Mosquito part (S) are definitely from an elevator
I have had a couple of these top plates and selector arms for a few years now and no knocks on the door yet.
One was dug up at Silloth and the other from a collector.
Unknown Bought at Shoreham
I bought this blue panel as an unknown on Saturday for the massive sum of £1.
He thought it was US – But the inspection stamp is AW.
Any ideas anyone.
Also the Mosquito elevator – anyone know the aircraft it was from . Paintwork looks Belgian?
Mike – just booked my hotel in Brighton.
As I have day job business in the area – I will be there Thu and Fri.
So I will be in town on Friday if you want an extra seat filled.

Any Chemists out there?
You called Sir!
hydrogen peroxide – relatively easy to get!
hydrazine – haven’t used it since my early 20’s. tends to explode if you use it incorrectly. Had to use special glass apparatus without ground glass joints as the grinding of the glass joints could cause it to explode. Try spending an afternoon with this stuff that is out of date and pushing the reaction to increase reaction rate to compensate for it being out of date.. Now I know why I have grey hair.
methyl alcohol – methanol – easy to get.
Chloroform – available but not liked as a result of the Montreal Protocol.
Trichloroethane – just empty out your old Tippex bottles.
KCuCN – should be possible to obtain..
water – more tricky in the south. Plenty here in Cumbria

Howard – thank you.
Met some good people and picked up a couple of interesting things.
Me!
Full Volume, wide screen – excellent! Thank you Sir!
Made the blood rate rise nicely….
FL pitch confirmation arrived this week.
Just hope the conflict with Waddington doesn’t divide and conquer.
Excellent News.
Congratulations on a successful ending Andy.
I also have some bits- if Cees doesn’t have any.
The Johnny Walker trophy for the NAM Cockpitfest is made form Lanc fuselage section and has a piece of stringer across it.
Of course you can ask TO if you can come and measure it and/or the rear section of the real aircraft.
I can possibly bring a piece to NAM on the 3rd if needed.
Here is one I prepared earlier – a hatch catch from a Ju88
not in RLM but looks anodised….
There are a list of aircraft used at training schools in these links:
http://www.ww2.dk/air/schule/ffsa.html
Shouldn’t take more than a day or two to work through them….
Graham – the writing is probably flugzeugfuhrers….
flugzeuggruppe…..
a literal translation is
Pilots seat. Aircraft group…..
or more correctly aircraft leader – likely captain/pilot..
