As my father was in the Merchant Navy – they dont talk about submarines – too many bad memories.
I thought to the submariners -everyone else was a skimmer.
It like my father used to say about ships and boats.
Ships carry boats.
Boats do not carry ships.
playing with PS I get 8 letters long – last three look like TED and first is either and E or an L.
Well I will be there both days from early to late!
Welcome to anyone who stops and says hello.
Two interesting ones here
Why did Guy Gibson pass one of his majesties Mk2A 1939 clocks to George Armstrong Dean?
Secondly a 1937 Airspeed Anson clock ? In addition no AM markings and doesn’t fit with any models in the Knirim book!
Also not sure why everyone keeps stating categorically where these clocks were used – as the evidence I can find as to which aircraft clock was used in which aircraft is very spurious e.g the Mk 2B is always stated as Typhoon even though the 2B spec is dated March 1941 – I assume because the only photograph evidence is a piccie of one in a Typhoon.
Thanks Edgar – applying logic – Jezebel would probably only be applied to aircraft J or Z.
So I think a fair assumption is that it was NV416 EE J as you have discovered from the ORB.
Thank You
The clock that is supposed to be in the centre console is one of the copies of the Jaeger le Coultre chronograph. There are many on ebay from the Stans which are modern productions – but you can get the original ACH from ebay as well – I have an original 1961 which I purchased from a nice gent in the East. It took 3 weeks to get here. The mechanism on the original is far better than in the modern one.

its a standard Varga artwork that was used on many aircraft including those used by Mr. Branston.
Apologies the original was/is painted/applied on WL419.
Pagen – there is a lot of information that says Extra Dark Sea Grey ( BS381c 640) and others that refer to Dark Sea Grey (BS 381c 638).
I chose the one that matched the colour of the original unfaded parts that I had – when viewed under D65.
This is what we think the Florence would have looked like.
The Dougal artwork is as on display at Manchester.
Both painted in Dark Sea Grey – just photographed badly….
And not forgetting that you can paint Gaulish warriors on the side of your MB Meteor
