RE: France–kicked out!!
Shame, but this world cup is really up for GRABS. Portugal IMO are the dark horse I think.
RE: C’est fini
Oh well, there is always Germany in 2006. Closer to home and all. The commentators have said that they see this as one of the most open world cups ever.
RE: car
A prop for Mad Max 4 perhaps?
RE: Something completely different..
>Ahhhhhh, so you’re going to write a porn novel…interesting
NO. But one could write something like that in their sleep I think! 🙂
Ki Ga Kawatta!
Changed my mind! ITS got to be SPIDER-MAN! After seeing the movie, SO cool, and I have always been a keen follower of this Marvel Hero.
RE: Second Wave Attack Is Reported As Being Immine
Recent video evidence has surfaced to suggest that some kind of retaliation is on the way, but the longer we go without it the more like a minow the Al Quaeda appear to be. They are fast losing their credibility as a fighting entity I think.

RE: The Sum of All Fears
Clancy has never had any military related career to speak of, he is, or was an insurance salesman with a strong passion for the Navy. His good buddy (USN retired by now I think) Larry Bond got him started with the novels when they co-produced (Clancy wrote it) HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER out of a war game that the two were working on. The rest is history.
Regards, Glenn.

Something completely different..
Stopping me? Easy, it has not been written. Anyway, some humour..
Presenting a report to the Galactic counsel of star systems, the Alien ambassador made his speech.
Ambassador: “I am here to inform you on studies we have made on a mysterious planet we located many millennia ago on a distant side of the galaxy outside our counsel’s jurisdiction”
The Counsel: “What is this place?”
Ambassador: “Well, we call it S-3450, but the inhabitants call it Earth”
The Counsel: “Why has this planet attracted your attention for so long?”
Ambassador: “Well we, along with the others believe we have discovered the greatest enigma of the known universe there”
The Counsel: “What? That system is young and according to your report the life forms there are primitive. What is this Universal enigmatic entity?”
Ambassador: “The Human female!”

>Ludlum’s works. Please keep us inform -on the novel.
Funny that! Someone else on another forum thought it was his work as well. Not writing a novel, well at least not yet. Just wanted to test a bit I thought of and see if I could pass it off as a decent piece of writing. Years ago I was working on a novel idea called “Claws of the Red Dragon” about how the Chinese, North Korean, and Vietnamese got together to take over the prosperous South East Asia. Hell, I even designed, drew and framed a cover design for it as well. I have a 20 page typed manuscript for the story outline buried away some where.
I started this when I got back from Japan 6 years ago and it was inspired by the events of the Taiwan/China crisis in the same year. Ever since then my interest in Chinese affairs and their military has been strong.

I will let you know..
That I wrote that piece. Had you fooled? 🙂

Winter Holidays here, NZ for a week soon, and then maybe another week in August to travel up north to Port Douglas in North Queensland, where I used to live.
RE: We Were Soldiers
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-06-02 AT 00:29 AM (GMT)]Thanks Kev,
Yes, the Long Tan battle was even tougher by all accounts but obviuosly not as long (Company vs. Regiment engagement), and it was air support, artillery and re-supply AGAIN that saved the day for the Aussies that time. Wonderful stuff modern air support is! I think I may have that book somewhere, but if I have I have not read it, but the account of the battle I am aware of.
Cheers, Glenn.
