Has the Doncaster to Sharme el Sheikhe service which was supposed to have statred a couple weeks after the leeds to Taba also been cancelled as i havn’t seen that advertised or listed anywhere? There ust not be enough demand for extra flights Egypt around here.
Yep GKirk you are right the max certified number of seats for the 763 is 350
http://www.airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=104
Would this configuration have a 29” or less seat pitch?
I think its 335 max in a an all economy layout but most airlines who have them in this layout such as thomsonfly and mytravel? have 328 as their total seat numbers. Hope this helps

Monarch announces order for Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners
Monarch Airlines has today announced that the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner will form the core of its future long-haul fleet. Monarch’s shareholders have placed an order for six of the new aircraft, worth US$916 million at list prices, with purchase rights on a further four. The company’s current long-haul fleet is comprised of Airbus A330, A300 and Boeing 767 aircraft.
The 787 aircraft, which are scheduled for delivery from the end of 2010, incorporate revolutionary cabin designs and will offer passengers improved onboard comfort with wider seats, seat back monitors, improved air conditioning, bigger windows, more stowage space, improved lighting and an altogether enhanced environment.
Using 20% less fuel per passenger than similarly sized aircraft, the Boeing 787 is also designed for the environment with lower emissions and quieter takeoffs and landings.
Monarch’s CEO, Peter Brown commented, “After months of extensive evaluation, we are delighted to have concluded that the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner is the ideal aircraft to replace Monarch’s existing fleet of wide-bodied aircraft. With delivery scheduled between 2010 and 2013, we are confident that their introduction into our fleet will provide us with an unbeatable product offering and greatly enhance the onboard passenger experience on our flights.”
Also commenting on the announcement, Marlin Dailey, senior vice president of Sales for Europe, Russia and central Asia, Boeing Commercial Airlines said, “The 787 has proven appeal in the long-haul leisure market, with faster cruise speeds enabling shorter sector times on flights. Monarch passengers will now be able to take advantage of these as well as benefiting from the cabin enhancements within the aircraft, making for an all-round improved flying experience.”
Monarch currently operates a fleet of 28 aircraft, serving over 100 destinations world-wide. Services are split between scheduled and charter flights, with the airline carrying over 6 million passengers per year.
Which of the 767-300s now have leather seats ?
All of the ones that are in the all economy layout and are operating the shorthaul flights this summer i think which are;
G-OBYB, G-OBYD, G-OBYE,G-OBYF and im not sure if G-OBYG has them?
Great report and great pics and videos! The meals look nice :p
I think he was meaning SFB ?
Any substantial order for replacement aircraft for Thomsonfly will most likely form part of a big order for the whole of the TUI Group.
I agree with that and i think there should be an order sometime soon with the amount they’ve got leaving the fleet now.
Probably because Thomsonfly is a low cost airline and big planes dont work anymore. Smaller B737’s are better suited to Short Haul hops to Spain.
They still can easily fill them though especially now in the summer.
I remember reading that about EasyJet in Airliner World a few years ago.
So I dug out my Airliner Worlds, and in the April 2004 magazine, it shows a picture of what a Boeing 747-200 would look like in EasyJet colours (Designed by Bmussed55). It stated that it would have been used to increase capacity on some routes during the summer, aswell as possibly operating a transfer service for passengers using EasyCruise.
And if you look closely at the registration it is I-GOTU (i got you) as it was a april fools joke lol 😀
They have also sold off G-OBYC to Air Italy i noticed.
Flew that aircraft in 2002 Gerona-Manchester and last year Manchester-Reus.
Shame really 🙁
Will Thomsonfly go for winglets ?
Ive herd that a second 763 might also be going to Air Italy which means if true there will only be two of them left still in the shorthaul config (But this is still to be confirmed yet) and yes i think they will be having winglets on the new 738’s.
Since when did Thomas Cook have leather seats across the fleet? They are all cloth except for 3 B757s that have the 187 seat fit, and the Premium class section of the A330s.
Flex
They have just started to re-fitt their entire fleet with leather seats.
Also while on this topic would anyone have any picturesof Britannia airways or Thomsonflys premium cabin seats or know any site that has?
Thanks
There was a 747 used for the Lourdes flights from Doncaster DSA a few weeks back and had air mediterranee flight codes
Air Scotland have announced a weekly saturday flight to Gerona starting 22 july.
This will be in competion with Ryanair’s new service to Gerona starting this october aswell as the Thomsonfly saturday flight throughout the summer.
It is one of the more popualr routes.
It just wont have been put on sale yet.
The 757 is operating there until the end of may similar to last summer and then back to the 737-800 for the rest of the summer
