why don’t you make me? if you’ve nothing useful to contribute to this serious thread, then don’t contribute at all. I will warn your post to the webmaster, it’s very impolite to act like this..especially to your older brother

Ah Burger King, nice burgers bad fries.

so does that mean Mark9 will be the Burger Queen, and Flood will be her Mr Mark9 Burger King? Don’t rush into pulling off a whoppper because you’ll end up getting some Whopper Jr’s.

And to Mark9.. we don’t have a BK in Spitsbergen, but we do have one in Kavelia! just hop on over.. it’ll be slightly cold and dark at this time of year 😀

Serbia should get these for it’s air force..

    http://www.grissomairmuseum.com/images/Pics/F-100-2.jpg

    Pros:

1.There are many used ones in the US, who I am sure will be gladly willing to sell them at a very low price.. or even for free!

    2. It would help get Serbia integrate with Western aircrafts

    3. It has a low RCS compared to their current fighters

    4. Combat proven

    5. Simple enough that the Serbians can overhaul them and even build them on their own!!

    6. Good pilots view, much better than the MiG-29

    7. NASA uses it too

good job old Flood and Mark9, i guess that will make you Mr Mark9?

well if you’re ever by Spitsbergen or Kavelia, I’ll get our local McD’s to give you a free wedding ceremony there.. complete with a Hamburger cake.. although I don’t think we can get those little bride/groom ornaments on top.. Hamburglar and Grimace will have to do.

Have read a story about a guy who went to Russia to fly in a Mig-25. He said they were flying with an escort of Flankers and when they started their climb to high alt and high speed that the Flanker pilots later told him that the Mig pilot lifted the nose, lit the afterburners and just rocketed straight up. In a few seconds the ABs looked like stars.

I doubt the Mig-31 has any problem accelerating either.

Would be interesting to fit it with new enignes like 180kn AL-41s in a fully developed state. Size and weight of the engines wouldn’t be restricted like on the Flanker. The early engines were 15.5 tons thrust, but the upgrade engines are 16.5 tons thrust. 18 tons thrust would be an improvement though and possibly more fuel efficient Too.

These days with high off boresight missiles and imaging IR seekers and ARH BVR missiles I don’t think manouverability are all that important. With AL-41s it might even be able to supercruise… wouldn’t surprise me if it already could… with ABs required only to get supersonic perhaps.

look like stars? in a couple of seconds? clearly an exaggeration garray.. take it with a grain of pepper if you will..

The MiG-31 is too heavy to supercruise even with AL-41s.

Like it or not..it was designed purely as an interceptotron, it’s physical shape and performance restricts it to that bun roll. Even with some good modifications, it would still not make a good Ground attack or WVR fighter purely because of it’s air frame.

The Flanker wins hand down as the better multi-role aircraft, indeed it is.

    i met Flood at McDonalds,
i was shocked he wore more make up than Ronald.
i bought him two big mac combos
he ate one and put the other in his afro
he drank a large coke, and soon after he had to go
into the bathroom, in the corner where no body knows
he unleashed a great yellow flood, and now wet are my toes.

In the island that no one wants to come to..i too had to defend my house…

A bear came into my house, I tried negotiating with it..but it failed, the bear was quite stubborn and would not meet any of my demands.. so I tried a subtle approach and offered it some old Mayonaisse i had from a party 3 months ago..

the bear ate it..and not too long after.. it didn’t seem too good. I can tell you that night, i had a bear burger!

40 FC-1s doesn’t give you the capability that 40 F-16s will give, therefore more FC-1s need to be procured which negates some of the cost advantage. Then, you have to maintain a larger number of aircraft which will cost more than to maintain a smaller number of aircraft. Again, dissipating some more of the FC-1’s lower cost of procurement.

You also need to train more pilots, reservists, mechanics, etc for the larger number of FC-1s, again dissipating even more of the FC-1’s lower cost of procurement.

Look at cost per unit capability in a holistic manner, not just fly away cost. In the long run, having a lesser number of highly capable aircrafts is better for the budget than having a vast quantity of lesser capable aircrafts.

yes you are right my ghastly friend, indeed you are.. those RD-33 engines they are using are quite thirsty on fuel and tough on maintenance.
