me thinks it’s more like 7 million at least.

Let’s talk about the figure of 1500 km for range first. Does’nt seem bad at all. The range with the centreline tank is pretty good and it can be jettisoned during combat if needed. However, despite all this, many including pilots label the Mig-29 as “too shortlegged to be of any usefulness other than point defence”

Now why don’t we hear similar complaints about the F/A-18, F-16 or Mirage-2000? The only advantage they had is that even their earlier versions could carry underwing drop tanks or had IFR unlike the Mig-29 as well as their their higher loadouts.

Please, don’t compare the Hornet with the Fulcrum my Pakistanian friend. They were designed for two different things, indeed they were..

The Hornet has more range, and most importantly, better fuel consumption, maintenance, not to mention an ergonomic cockpit, better avionics and a wider range of weapons capabilities. Only now the MiG-29SMT and M’s begin to match the F-18C 😉

As for the triangular bit you are refering to, I don’t know what you mean but looking at the tails they are different.

My guess is because we bought early models our PC-9’s, and subsequent upgrade to 9A (Hence the Underwing stores tanks) and grey colour scheme.

The 9’s are used for pilot training, the 9A’s are used for FAC (Forward Air Control) that’s why they have the stores under the wing, they also have uprated engines.

don’t mind him, my tasty friend. Ja’s a bit bitter that i pirated his album instead of buying it 😉

also I never met the guy and he’s never seen me before, yet he insists I’m big boned 😮

    as for Bulgaria..
    they’re a swell people 😀

a word of caution here Troung..or should i call you Zhang?

the IAI MiG-2000 and Lancer are different!

IAI and Elbit who does the lancer, are rivals and are in constant competition with each other. I’m sure they wouldnt appreciate being labled as the same

My #1 Yugoslavian comrade, Oil is NOT the blessing in disguise. The only country in the world that manage to control it’s oil economy is Norway!!

most Oil countries end up not adequately developing their other industries, so when oil prices go down, they get really effected..that’s what happened to Nigeria.

Also it causes inflation like crazy.. look at Indonesia..

Then many oil countries now are in heavy debt, look at Saudi Arabia.

All because they relied heavily on unpredictable oil profits based on unpredictable prices.

Norway put a large amount of their oil funds in a national government cache which was usually used for social programs.

good boy, maybe you should put it in the Lancer thread since that came from the MiG-21 too 😉

anyways, to Troung, yes I think you should make an F-7 thread, the article H177 put up did make me wonder about Pakistan’s aims to get some BVR out of that ol’ dog.
