I am sorry to say that you western people have a tendency to create elephant out of mouse. I have never been to Sudan or Somalia, but have a spent a fair amount of time in a very conservative country and let me assure you that typical western perceptions of religious police holding canes and running around to get a chance to beat any one are’nt very accurate. I am not accusing anyone, just that what ever u see in media is’nt 100% accurate.
the difference here is religious country like Iran and Saudi Arabia cannot be compared to places like Sudan or Somalia where religion has a strong influence. You got two countries that are relatively stable and have decent living standards.. and the latter two is near anarchy and chaos.

Anything too crowded. Parts of China and India come to mind. Or some areas of that little country i live in.
Agree in China. Haven’t been all over, but based on what I see in Hong Kong and Beijing. Too many rude people, very dirty air, very unsanitary restaurants (except for the ones obviously catering to westerners), unsanitary toilets, horrible traffic, horrible drivers.. no road rules (but they say India is worse). Very undesirable women.
Now Japan is a nice clean country. Almost every bathroom I went into, was pretty damn clean. women are easy and a decent amount beautiful, and great air.. as long as it isnt Tokyo.

In your opinion, what is the least desired country to live in nowadays?
We got a long line of countries desperately beaten by poverty, but it could get even worse.. Wannabe autocratic leaders like Turkmenbashi, sucking weather conditions, raging civil wars or ethnic genocides, AIDS, there is much that can be spoiled..
Which one tops it all, in your opinion? Name at least three…
I’m pretty flexibile in climate. I’ve been in the coldest regions of the world, and I am currently living in a pretty arid and warm climate right now. For me, it’s stability, crime, and sanitary conditions I look at.
I would have to say Sudan and Somalia are tops.. especially if you’re a Christian. Very little order, lots of killing, ugly women, poor economy and living standards.. and a corrupt government. Must suck for Somalians even more.. try to escape on foot, you’d just end up in some other finky dink hell hole. Try to escape on sea, you’d have to face the wrath of numerous pirates. Turkmenistan is not AS bad.. it’s got at least some kind of structure, lots of economic development, and an establish government and stability. It has potential to be better, but is limited by a megalomaniac.. but it’s no where near as bad as Sub-Saharan Africa.
I’m guessing a good chunk of replies will probably be that region too.. as for developed countries.. it’d have to be Britain.. never seen such a country so gloomy and dull, even its climate, architecture and people, just scream gloom. it’s the Romania of Western Europe :diablo:

That makes me a – what? I love such stuff.
wow a surprise, I thought you’d be at the far bottom left where most libertarians would be placed.

Looks like I’m a dreaded leftist, PC, pinko bar-steward so much loved and respected by these forums….. 😉
not really, the more bottom you are, the more capitalistic you are. notice that many Europeans who are more fond of social welfare, are on or above the horizontal axis.

Already have an XBox 360 on the way 😀 And I did go out this afternoon and finally buy a damn TV. Got a 52-inch DLP HDTV, one of the brand new Mitsubishi 1080p ones. The picture quality is phenomenal. It’ll get delivered on Saturday, the furniture finally gets here on Friday. Now all I need is that XBox surround sound system thing and I’ll be set 😎
wow what are they paying you in the military. you officer or enlisted?

A journalist who appears regularly in the opinion pages of our local newspaper, claims that the U.S. is “developing three major air bases in Pakistan and others across Central Asia, to support its plans to dominate the region’s oil supplies”.
Does anyone from Pakistan or the region have any actual details or evidence that this is true? He actually does travel in the region but personally I think he is wrong but…..
Sauron
the US has a presence in Manas air base in Kyrgyzstan and Termez in Uzbekistan, but the gov’ts there seem intent on ending the presence of US forces there. Furthermore, if they are developing major airbases there, you can be sure the Russians will make big headlines about it. Most of the Central Asian countries tend to play neutral rather than be pro anybody.
