I’m going to approach this as what I’d like to accomplish were I given a free hand to run the USA.

well if I were to run the USA.

Manipulate the UN to your own advantage
Get out of NATO
No more freebies to Israel
divide Iraq into fiefdoms
make rapproachments to Iran
make war with N.Korea
turn a deaf ear to the PC movement
Make fed gov’t smaller by passing more responsibilities to state govt’s
get rid of National guards and re-incorporate them into the other respective branches
heavily enforce southern borders
increase tax to control deficit
support stem cells
increase funding to other energy alternatives, increase state role in energy (some vital natural resources should be under gov’t control rather than private)
give more rights to homos
put more regulations on consumer vehicle emissions (good for environment, force them to use public transportation more money for state, reduce amount of oil consumption most importantly).

now if I was norway…
continue staying out of the EU
reform public sector
give gov’t subsidies to manufacturing industries
drop JSF, go for Gripen.
convince Denmark and Sweden to leave the EU and join Norway into making a new Scandinavian union :diablo: build up military strength and annex Murmansk 😉

Get out of the Middle East.
Reverse our policy regarding Israel-no more handouts or blanket support.
Open diplomatic relations with Cuba, North Korea, and Iran.
Federally fund research into extracting oil from shale.
Place all the army guys I got out of Iraq and the Middle East along the Mexican border, along with landmines and electric fences.
Make it illegal for illegal immigrants to get schooling, health benefits, driver’s licenses, and anything else a taxpaying citizen pays for.
Abolish the PC movement.
Pass an Equal Rights ammendment to the Constitution.
Get rid of Affirmative Action and any racial quota systems. If you aren’t the most qualified, you won’t get the job or school spot.
Classify gangs as organized crime and make them a federal problem.
Eliminate relations with Central and South American nations which export illegal drugs to the US.

what about gays, abortion and stem cells? btw I like your foreign policiees 😀 dunno if I would go as far as putting land mines on the border though.. wouldn’t bear traps be a much more humane 😉

little coverage? Every time I turn to CNN I see news on the riots. people tend to see what they want to see.

i say how a country is run depends on how it is when received 😉 solutions don’t work in every scenario
