Mexico is owned by the US as all TEXAS, NEW MEXICO, ARIZONA CALIFORNIA , CHICAGO and the US south west is owned by MEXICO 🙂 That is an over statement without mexicans working in the US legally or ILLEGALY the US would not be able compete in many areas since many products would become more expensive the Americans are as dependant on Mexico as the Mexicans on the US

not really, those can be replaced by Puerto Ricans, aka Better looking Mexicans 😉 But the Mexicans can never replace the US!

My guess would be next to nothing for the airframe itself if you’re getting it from the USAF.

I believe the Italian lease is for 5 years with an option for 5 more. Have no idea what the costs are.

The costs for refurbishment / upgrades would probably run into the millions though. Still it be cheaper than buying new. Like I said, getting the Italian F-16s as they come off of lease is ideal. Those birds have already been refurbished after they came out of the AMARC boneyard at Davis Monthan

I Agree.. whether the Mexicanos like it or not, they are economically 0Wn3D by the US, with out them they would be nothing. But it also means the Mexicans can lobby to get subsidized F-16 Block 50s cough Poland cough Israel cough. It should be good enough for their needs, cheap to operate and provide reasonable capabilities and integration with their newly acquired E-2s my burger buddies.

In exchange for the subsidies, Mexico needs to open a couple more of these

The first priority though is to replace the T-33s with something like the Pampa or L-159.

I thought you didn’t want Euro or American? Pampa has so much involvement from LMaeronautics and L-159 is partially owned by Boeing. Here’s a much better alternative

FT-6 trainer, non Euro or American and I bet it could be easily liscense built!

Hola Burger flipper. Im really only interested in low cost combat aircraft as an alternative to the latest american/euro stuff. So that only leaves me to talk about jet trainers, as fighters like the LCA and FC-1 are a long ways off.

Im glad you brought up Mexican labor as I do have special interest in that. The people who do that are usually native Mexicans who are the lowest in the social ladder under mixed race and european Mexicans. So niether the government nor the people of Mexico dont really knock themselves out to improving the situation for these people. But if the US were to legalize this kind of labor, they would actually have increased wage control as there would be more competition from neighboring Latin American countrys. As well as increased border security and improved working conditions.

    Hello Mixtex,

I think Mexico should have more McDonalds, the corporation in America is the #1 job creator, making millions of jobs, and cannot be matched by the private or public sectors anywhere! It also is one of the few jobs that don’t require alot of education, so there’s lots of hope for Mexico’s citizens.

Check out my mexican air force thread, some alternatives to western aircraft there

they sould buy Su-35 build in Brazil

They can’t afford it, Mexico is DEFINITELY not Brasil!! Hell Even Brasil has a hard time with obtaining even a small number of Su-35s..

Brasil: Military budget: $10,439.4 million (2003)

Mexicali: Military budget: $5,168.3 million (2003)

No but they will be going into production soon, the G-4 is done. Even the G-4M has no hope for any sort of production, and it’s performance is not up to par with the Yak-130, especially in avionics, payload, weapons carried and number of hardpoints.

Also as for Yak-130, there seems to be a single seat light fighter version being developed. dubbed Yak-133, with stronger AI-222-28 engines which will be similar to M-346’s engines, and it is also said to carry some 800 more kg of fuel internally. It is schedueled to fly in 2005-2006 but I am not sure about this at all.

Now now Toni, drawings don’t count. 😉 if they did, we’d see some crazy looking aircraft out there. So, where does this magical aircraft exist? Remember drawing’s don’t count 🙂 and don’t attempt to make one yourself, other wise the Yak-133 would end up looking like a deformed MCA drawing.

F-18, if you have nothing valuable to contribute to the discussion then screw off. G-4 is not in production nor it is going back in it.

So the Yak-130, T-50 and FTC-2000 are in production? 😀 don’t make me laugh Kukoc.

If it’s just about the defensite avionics then I don’t see a big problem that those cannot be integrated, I mean the nose can be lengthened to house more avionics and as well as the small Kopyo-M/-F radar and give BVR capability.

The Yak-130 is almost supersonic but not entirely, meanwhile the M-346 is lighter than standard Yak-130 and it’s engines provide 500kg more thrust all together than that of Yak-130 so I would assume it would be faster, though I think my estimates were a little too big.

no you have not, all u told me was by who it was posted to, I looked for it but did not find it. Mind providing me a link of the thread?

Well R-77 is no problem, as for larger weapons like Kh-35, well if its said to be able to carry as much as 4 KAB-500L/Krs(all together 2000kg) then I don’t think 4 Kh-35 missiles(where each weighs around 481kgs) will be a problem.

Though I think attaching almost a 980kg Kh-59M might be a problem, but I think it may be able to lift one or two.

Well, I think they can provide any of those, spares, support, training, anything, just how good those might be varies from company from company. The same can be said about any other plane.

I don’t see why not, the FTC-2000 is more of a further development of the J-7, it’s whole back fuselage and engine are of the J-7 and I don’t see why it cant cost way under 7mn. Also I asked crobato but he does not have much info on the FTC-2000.

Hey Toni Kukoc Jr and Wazenwhatro, your aircraft has nothing on the Super Galeb Super upgrade!

    http://www.mwindridge.com/Airshow_1984/Farnborough_1984/Super_Galeb_23005.jpg

Already exists, much cheaper than your precious Yak-13090123 and Golden Eagle. And already has alot of weapons, beat that!

If it was as simple as a statement of ‘which is the best’ then only one type would ever be sold. Impossible question as every operation has different requirements.

Keep in mind I stated that it has to operate from a very cold climate.

WHere I am from it can get very cold and sometimes the ports freezing.

Was the F-1 a good aircraft, the Japanese thing being replaced by the F-2?

The Japancheezy wanted a fighter that can carry 4 AshMs, the F-1 could carry just two my Russian friend.

well china and india has the worlds largest populations, hence largest number of people working. this means that if productivity is so relevent to the number of people working, then china and india should be the superpowers. doesnt quite add up does it?

one of the benefits of industrialisation and technological advancement is that production has become less and less labour intensive, meaning one can get more work done with fewer people. this is seen in action almost everyday! notice how all the big companies in the west are cutting jobs while productivity was going up?

the USSR might have devoted more people and a higher percentage of their GDP into their weapons industry, but the west was still putting in more resources into theirs. that is largely due to the west having a much more successful/realistice economic structure, hence they were richer.

the USSR/russians did loose the cold war because they were wasteful and incompotant, they lost because their economy could not support their military expenditure.

and i have no idea what you are trying to say with your Siberia and embargo examples.

just don’t bother with him like everyone else 😉 he’s been deemed a yahoo by chinese, pakistani, indian, russsian, americanan, and europeans. You’ll never find an international agreement like that again.

Using your logic, the F-5 is built the same like an F-15? or a MiG-21 built the same as an Su-27? Do you expect an F-5 to be able to take the same damage from a Manpad as an F-15?

That’s true, not all jets can take the same damage, case in point

One of the best tactics is called “rapairing the hole”. tis very complicated and needs a Big Mac sized proportion of cement, concerete and a little gum.
