Can i send it to the email adress mentioned at your site Paul? I’ve zipped it now, it’s three 2,5MB files.

Anyone else who is interested, just let me know via PM with the mail adress you want it sent to. This not to pollute this thread too much. The text is in Russian, but the photo-captions are dual language. The picture quality isn’t perfect, and neither is my scanner so don’t expect too much of it.

    Still, it’s interesting enough…

Never heard of Bob Saget? No wonder you like the US that much, if you’re so ignorant of it ๐Ÿ˜€

Besides, who said i’m from the BBC-country?

From the same source, a not-so-clear pic of the tail with arrestor hook of that very same MiG-27LL. The markings on the tail denote the number of arrested landings.

My attempt at translating the photo caption, although i’m sure Flex or anyone else will correct me later

“Steam catapult with two working cylinders during on-site construction at the Proletariat Factory in Leningrad. They never were put in place aboard the aircraft carrier”
(hope the latter sentence is OK, it’s got a lot of grammar in it :p )

Here is a pic of early Soviet carrier trials: MiG-27LL bort 03 taking off at the NITKA ramp at Saki. From the Mir Aviatsii article i mentioned in the suffixes thread.

Your wing is aerodynamically and lift-wise cleaner without engines dangling off them too.

Well, you’re the avionics guy ๐Ÿ˜‰ … but according to the Mir Aviatsii article on attack-Floggers (in isue 1/2001, still as far as i know most comprehensive article written on the MiG-23B/MiG-27 series and i’m seriously puzzled why a translated version hasn’t appeared in the West yet) you are right.

At least the British TV didn’t bring us Bob Saget.
