‘Not gonna get us’ (or better, Nas ne dogonyat’) is indeed their second single. No kissing in this video, but still plenty of fun when Julia and Lena steal a massive KRAZ truck, pass an Il-76 and make way for the snowy taiga where they also happen to drive over a detour-sign.
As with the video for ‘All the things she said’ (a.k.a. Ya soshla s uma, the one with the girld happily kissing in short skirts and lousy weather), it appears the ‘Not gonna get us’ video is a re-edited version of the Russian original. If anyone bothers to take notice, in the English-language videos you’ll never see the girls sign longer than one or two syllables. Guess what, they were actually singing in Russian, and for the English-language releases the videos were simply smartly edited to make it seem the girls were singing in English. There is full singing in Russian videos though.
Although i think their English stuff is good, i absolutely love the Russian-language songs. Nas ne dogonyat and Ya soshla s uma are far more interesting to listen than their English counterparts. On Kazaa you can find other Russian-language songs like Bylo i proshlo and Ya tvoi vrag, they are great too.

Basic Russian army utility vehicle is the UAZ 469 though. That’s the one which is in general service and you’ll see plentiful. I have never ever come across one of those space vehicles and in all seriousness i doubt something like that gets really populair in Russia.
The UAZ is extremely rugged, not too large to find it’s way through a European-width forest dirttrack (ANY car can outrun a Humvee, just take a road which is less than 8 metres wide }> Why else does the US only fight wars in deserts ever since they got that unpractical behemoth?) and extremely easy to maintain. The same chassis and engine is also used for the UAZ 4×4 minibus, which looks a bit ugly according to some (not to me!) but which is in fact even better in the terrain, because of it’s centrally placed engine.

There are rumours Playboy has offered them a deal, to materialise when they’re 18…

The Pixies are cool! I’m a diehard fan since they released Bossanova, so that should be from 1990 or so. Great band, much better than what Frank Black did when he went solo (although some of the stuff he did with The Catholics wasn’t bad either). If you’re in to the Pixies, have you tried the Breeders?

Perhaps i was inspired because of the Festival du Film Féminin… nah, can’t be really, i didn’t notice much of it. After all, it was just a nice long weekend of spotting Skyhawks at Cazaux… who ever said planespotting and culture don’t mix?
Oh, and when i was younger and rode a bicycle a lot, i also always swallowed the flies and bugs which got into my mouth. Not for taste, but for punishment.

Get your vomit bags out… i’m kind of experimental when it comes to eating. Usually it works out just fine.

[li]Various kinds of intestines-and-blood-pies (Black Pudding, Blutwurst, Balkenbrij, Haggis)

[li]Pickled-and-yellied brain of pork
[li]Semi-cooked brain of cow
Just don’t give me a cheese sandwich, please! Apart from melted cheese on a pizza or tosti/croque monsieur, i find the stuff absolutely repulsive.
