Another restorable is Anson 1 NZ412 (DG701) that is in NZ and can be found with Don Subritzky on his farm north of Auckland. I photographed this in July this year

In July I visted Stan Smith’s restoration facility at North Shore airfield NZ, where ZK-APT is based and stored in the rafters of one of his workshops is another Fox Moth fuselage awaiting its turn for restoration. I believe Stan said it was ZK-AGM

This has been posted on another site

EVERETT, Wash., June 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Boeing (NYSE: BA) today announced that first flight of the 787 Dreamliner will be postponed due to a need to reinforce an area within the side-of-body section of the aircraft. The need was identified during the recent regularly scheduled tests on the full-scale static test airplane. Preliminary analysis indicated that flight test could proceed this month as planned. However, after further testing and consideration of possible modified flight test plans, the decision was made late last week that first flight should instead be postponed until productive flight testing could occur. First flight and first delivery will be rescheduled following the final determination of the required modification and testing plan. It will be several weeks before the new schedule is available. The 787 team will continue with other aspects of testing on Airplane #1, including final gauntlet testing and low-speed taxiing. Work will also continue on the other five flight test aircraft and the subsequent aircraft in the production system.Scott Carson, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes said a team of experts has already identified several potential solutions.”Consideration was given to a temporary solution that would allow us to fly as scheduled, but we ultimately concluded that the right thing was to develop, design, test and incorporate a permanent modification to the localized area requiring reinforcement. Structural modifications like these are not uncommon in the development of new airplanes, and this is not an issue related to our choice of materials or the assembly and installation work of our team,” Carson said. Boeing’s financial guidance will be updated to reflect any impact of these changes when the company issues its second quarter 2009 earnings report in July.Boeing will hold a conference call with Carson, Pat Shanahan, vice president and general manager of Airplane Programs, and Scott Fancher, vice president and general manager of the 787 program, to discuss the 787 program today at 10:00 a.m. EDT, 7:00 a.m., PDT. A webcast of that call will be accessible at The Boeing Company.

Hope this brings everyone up to date with the official line from Boeing

Photographic evidence taken on Friday at North Weald when we had 5 Strikemasters on the apron together including the two in question.

Tom Maloney confirmed to me on Fruiday that is aircraft G-CFBK is actually based at NW and he commutes up to fly it in his Yak 52 (G-BVOK) when required.

Just a quick update as promised, the log of expected visitors on our website http://www.air-britainflyin.co.uk is now being updated regularly and a fresh update will appear today. A further update will follow on Friday.

Please note that several aircraft from mainland Europe, particularly France are due to arrive in Friday but I do not have their details as no PPR is required for Friday arrivals. (For the pilots reading this intending to join us PPR bookings should be made directly through The Squadron at NW)

We are working with the hangar operators at NW to try to get some of the more interesting aircraft out into the open including the Beech H-18 and Lim-5for photographic opportunities.

I am pleased to note that The de Havilland Aircraft/Mosquito Museum (along with several other organisations) will be exhibiting at the event so please come and see what they have on show.We will also have a Bleriot on show in line with our theme
With the good weather “ordered” I hope we will have varied and interested selection of aircraft at the vent, so please come and join us at the historic and friendly NW

I shall be there (I have to be I organise it!)

I will post an update next week with more details, but for now I will say that I have had lots of expressions of interest from French aircraft (which is great given the theme) coming to join us, including a group of Wassmer owners.

I hope you will join us at North Weald for the UKs longest running (this is our 30th) fly-in organised by aviation enthusiasts and historians, for enthusiasts and historians.

Further to Ozplane’s earlier mail I can confirm that we have 5 Airtourers already “booked” (subject to the usual caveats of weather and servicability) with hopefully more to confirm before the event for the Air-Britain Fly-In at North Weald on 20-21 June.

We will aim to park the aircraft together to maximise the uniqueness of the gathering.

Hope to see some forumites at the event

The Gnat at the rear of the hangar is XP540/8606M and I think the JP is G-BXBH/XM365, but as I have not been over for a few weeks can’t be certain.

The Airdale G-ARNP is currently at Spanhoe having its annual so would not have been present last weekend.

As the Air-Britain Fly-In Director I am really pleased to hear you are planning to join us at NW in June.

I would suggest you use the train or more the regular bus service to Harlow, then the bus to the Market. the alternative to the latter is a taxi from Harlow to NW, which may be cheaper from Harlow than one from Stansted.

If you send me a PM I might, depending on your arrival time, even be able to get someone to pick you up at Stansted.

To wet your appetite I can confirm there will be a Bleriot present and given the French theme, several groups of french aircraft are planning to come over to join us. Our website will be updated with more details as the event approaches.

DCK – Knowing the team at NW, I doubt there would be a problem, providing you drink the tea!
