Lockheed JAST, McDonnel Douglas X-36, etc are not the same as the J-20.
Their canards and wings are not canted.

the J-20’s canards are canted at a separate angle from the main wing.

Also.. how many times will boeing change their F/A-XX configuration? this must be the third configuration.

with the recent revelation that Russia assisted in the design of the WS-10 helicopter, I would not be surprised if Russia also helped with the J-20 and J-31.

Russia built the Su-34 for a reason; long-range mission endurance. The Su-34 allows the pilots to go to bathroom, microwave snacks, and take a nap if necessary. This kind of comfort is not available in the Flanker.

urban myth. Those things don’t exist in the Su-34. Go find a picture of it.

gripen is good for countries that aren’t surrounded by powerful enemies but still want the “prestige” and “reserve power” of operating a modern fast jet basically.

the irony because the Gripen was designed to face a bordering large powerful enemy.

YES, but that greenish-grey is IMO even stranger than that “ugly” Russian brownish-purple-grey on the Su-34 “Hellducks” ! 🙁

You mean like fabricating evidence to go to war with Iraq over WMDs that were never found for a terrorist attack comitted by mostly Saudis whose leader was hiding in Afghanistan? How about Grenada or Panama? What about leaders elected in a democracy that the West doesn’t like therefore bully until the democracy picks a leader that meets with teh West’s approval. Pretty hypocrtical to go around calling others bullies.

Weaker neighbors? I wouldn’t call Japan a weaker neighbor. And look at that weaker neighbor the Philippines who had their militia invade Malayasian territory calling it historically belonging to the Philippines. Malayasian military forces have suffered some casualties from the invasion.

typical fan boy rant by throwing a red herring. Just because the US does it doesn’t mean its alright either.

and **** poor job of throwing in the Philippines. Its the fact that their government is weak that they can’t control terrorists in their territory from invading foreign countries. yes, in case it hasn’t dawn on you, that “militia” is not representatives of the state.

so if Falkland ends up voting independence, would Argentina respect Falklands independence?

or would Falklands need to some how muster up their own military? :diablo:

Argentina is for better and for worse the descendant of whatever population/s was/were living in those areas BEFORE the arrival of colonialism. As such, they have a reasonable right to talk don’t you think.

Flaw 1: Argentines are mostly descended from Spaniards and Italian settlers, and in many cases, purely from these settlers

Flaw 2: No proof there were people settled in Falklands before the arrival of Europeans

Flaw 3: No proof that indigenous people in modern Argentina had links with the Falklands either.

Flaw 4: Assuming modern indigenous people of Argentina are happy to see the Argentine settlers claiming Falklands on their behalf.

by your logic, Russia must leave most of Siberia and China should leave Tibet right? After all there were populations there long before the arrival of settlers.

That’s your view, but not necessarily corresponding to the reality, morality or justice, sorry. Those islands has been made british by force of arms, period. That truth cannot be hidden or ignored , or misinterpreted. Ultranationalism is certainly not the answer for the future of the Falklands. Dialogue is.

two or three guys attempted to explain it to you but its not getting through to your head.

the Islands were UNINHABITED when first settled by Europeans. There were NO ARGENTINIANS there.

while there’s a possibility indigenous tribes could have went there, the first discovered by the Portuguese (some say British), and first settled by the French who named it after Saint Malo (and that’s how you get Malvinas).
At the same time the British created Port Egmont in a different part of the island.

No Spanish speaking party was involved until later when the Spanish Empire (Not Argentine) kicked out the French and nearly started a war with the British. In other words they came AFTER. During that time Spain did encourage settlement into the Falklands but later withdrew following the disintegration of its empire.

Blockers become problematic due to flow distortion, which degrades engine performance, and the need to heat the blocker to prevent ice accretion, which can result in FOD.

curious to why Pakfa went that route, after all it does get icy there. unless they did end up adding a heated blocker.

There’s another reason why the strike-interceptor doesn’t make sense that isn’t about size. Why would they go with a canard design for an interceptor.

    whats wrong with you guys

a strike aircraft and an interceptor are two totally different types of roles.
one is air to ground, the other is air to air.

but canards are found on both types..

    interceptors with canards:
    JA-37, Cheetah-C, probably the J-9

    strike aircraft with canards:
    su-34, Lavi, AJ-37

Total is still 270 birds right?

So much for those reports saying the cost would be over 100 million a bird.

and just a little bit more orders and India will have as many Flankers as Russia does, although most of Indias will be later model flankers.

Having flown on the 146, the wing spar also restricts overhead storage.

could you go in detail about that? i’m looking at pics and trying to see what kind of restrictions are there

    Burned.

    :p

    burn to both suppliers.
Venezuela is in an unenviable position where it has to choose from:
Russians who supply a good product but offer poor service
    or
Chinese who supply a not as good product with poorer service

because the West won’t sell them anything anymore.
