As opposed to somebody whose 90% of posts seem to belittle another nation’s progress?
if you are referring to me, I suggest you do a search on my posts.
Would You know anything about the J-10’s history, then You would know that no J-10 was build with a lavi-style intake.
This “aircraft” seen here – by the way the same configuration as in the first image of Your previous post – is the first full-scale mock up build around the WP-15. It was already the largerer aircraft in comparison it finally evolved into but due to the AL-31FN a new intake and a shortened rear fuselage was necesary.
All other models are nothing more than simple desk-top models build to show some politicians … we all (maybe not all) know by Song Wengcong himself how the J-10 evolved from the J-9.
But I can understnd that its sometimes hard to give up a long beloved and believed thruth, which finally crashes.
So much on trolling ….
Deino
If you are referring to the WP-15 as in the R-13 clone, then it would not make sense to “shorten” it for the Al-31 because the R-13 is shorter than the Al-31.
hostility to those who dont agree with you is a fan boy makes.
By the time we had the first J-10 prototype, it was already designed for AL-31. I didn’t realize plane models now count as “prototype”.
who said anything about prototype?
however since you brought it up, it seems that a different kind of J-10 was built with Lavi style intakes

now can you please stop trolling
You mean :
“
Since procured, the Mig fighter planes remained in store and never flew, even on trial run, in the absence of adequate space of Bangladesh sky, informed sources said.”I don’t see anything about spares.
Also, there are photos of them flying @ Bangladesh, hmmmm. Also, I don’t think this has anything to do with the new deliveries of SMTs.
you sir are correct, it was space not spare.
which makes less sense to buy more aircraft if they can’t even find the space. rumors are they want su-30s also
Absolutely right. If the USAF, with its existing doctrine, training, & support, had Su-27s instead of F-15s, it would easily dominate an air force equipped with F-15s but lacking the rest of the package.
right, it all comes down to pilot skill.. which means as for the aircraft themselves.. between the Flanker and eagle, which has lower operation costs, less maintainance requirements and more reliability? no one has answered that.
Obviously the fact that those legacy fighters were operated in limited number by small countries or by ill equipped and ill trained third world armies had no impact at all.
right. but in a third world vs third world scenario, the Flanker did pretty well.
Ethiopian Su-27s raped Eritrean MiG-29’s hard in the butt.. it was soo hard that Eritrea went limping back and bought Su-27s instead of more MiG-29s after the war!
Come on … that old story is looooong dead. The ealy Lavi was to be powered by the WS-15 and already this engine was much larger than the Lavi’s US powerplant. But sometimes it’s so nice to keep old believings ….
Deino
what he says is true deinosaur, the proto J-10 looked much more similar to the Lavi but the design changed after realizing how big the Russian engines were

Agree with all those who say that India should carry on with the deal. IMO it was the wrong decision to have Gorshkov rebuilt, but it’s too late to reconsider. Any alternative would take much longer & cost much more than fixing Vikramaditya.
it would be very foolish to stop the Gorshkov at this late a stage, but it would be very wise that once its fixed and transferred to the Indians.. that they sell it to the Brazilians at a higher cost..win-win for Indiana. :diablo:
Iraq “retired” its entire Air Force.
Doesn’t look like Algeria plans to replace its entire MiG-29 fleet soon.
Algeria is already considering Rafale or Gripen to replace their MiG-29.. when it happens who knows but the intention is there

Bangladesh MiG-29s cancelled after the corruption trial. They don’t fly much because of lack of spare parts

The small size is also F-35’s greatest shortfall.
some say that’s the LCA/Tejas’ greatest shortfall as well!
can there ever be a Gripen sized stealth aircraft or is there a minimum size 5th gen aircraft limited to?
Looks like a twin-engined F-35 to me, with a much wider wingspan. Could be a J-10 replacement.
this probably means J-10s will be up for sale soon for exports! 😮
You gonna pay Irkut for it?
Mistral gift is enough I think 😉 .
Russia will silly! its a nice way for Russia to thank France for sending their men to help Russia. Besides. those alpha jets need to be replaced anyways.
t is most likely a true MKK-copy in the same way the J-15 is a Su-33 copy (even if I don’t like that term “copy”).
if you don’t like that term “copy” then what would you refer that as?
Urgh.
The clowns that scream “COPY” are best ignored. They’ve obviously no f**king idea just how complex one of these machines is and how challenging they are to design.
you obviously have no idea just how complex copying is.
I suppose we can immediately write off AMCA, ATD-X and KFX as copies as well…
lol nice try. AMCA and KFX are paper planes.. the Indians and Koreans can’t even decide what design to use
J-31 is real and built and ATD-X is being built.. one looks way more like the F-35 than the other..
hmm
