Wow, the F-35 is really in trouble with that evaluation.

who says the F-35 isn’t in trouble? there’s several threads and pages about the F-35’s problems in this forum.

    Here’s a bigger pic

interesting, perhaps you are right. if that’s a tailhook, we might just be looking at the F-35C’s greatest rival 😮

It’s been posted before (perhaps a week or two) the images of J-21/31 came out yesterday.

What i find really interesting is that no other Stealth fighter either planned or in testing (AMCA, KFX, this japanese “ATF-X”, J-20, SAC AMF, T-50 , F-35) uses flat nozzles. Must be something unacceptably bad about them (weight , loss of thrust , TVC limitations , added cost and complexity etc.)

its because all those fighters use non-US engines, all of which haven’t developed a production model with flat nozzles.. although Russians did have an experiment going on.
F-35 on the other hand, their selection of a round nozzle might be due to the fact that the B version had to bend its nozzle down to achieve lift

other wise X-32 and YF-23 also had a flat nozzle and so did Lockheed’s early model before X-35

I’m not a huge fan of these “copy!”-allegations but in this case I am willing to make an exception. It looks so much like a twin engined derivative of the X/F-35 with a touch of F-22-ness it’s not even funny. I guess those hackers really came in handy this time.

Actually the J-21 looks quite a lot like the model being tested in Russia a decade ago.. it looks like the YF-22 at first but its actually smaller if you look at the proportions, much closer to the J-21 size. Since Shenyang is very close with Russian companies, its entirely feasible they received Russian assistance

Oh my god, this guy just keeps delivering.

1.) Why don’t you give me a detailed report of how Type 99A2 is better than T-90MS, and then we can talk? No serious expert would agree with you. China still imports ex-USSR engines, guns, ATGMs, turet instalations, for its tanks and IFVs. Your ignorance is astounding.
    2.) What stealth ships?
3.) China can’t even power its own “stealth” fighters. How sad.
4.) LOL! You just went ful retard. Russia can’t send a man into space?

SOrry, I am done responding to some butthurt Chinese children.

I thought Russia wasn’t too serious about the T-90MS, instead going for the Armata?

that aside its surely a nice looking tank.. so nice that even Putin is willing to put his firm buttocks into its seats
    http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RodA1tL8uAw/Tm7LDoVye2I/AAAAAAAAATI/MoPXkBxYVKE/s400/Russian_T-90MS_3.jpg

Chinese new tanks are a compromised design. they try to retain the low silhouette of Russian and early Chinese style tanks but somehow have the heavy weight of a western tank. At least the Japanese got both low silhouette and low weight down in their latest model.

Thst discussion is getting stupid !

It was stupid because Huitong stated that “few Su-30MKKs (S/N 20x9x) started to wear a new “tropical” camouflage (pink, yellow and green) similar to Vietnamese Su-30MKV”
Yet there is not one single Vietnamese Flanker that has pink yellow and green and you’ve failed to find one. They are in brown and green only. Neither are there Chinese Flankers that are pink yellow and green. Just brown and green, or two toned sand.

IT’s not pink … we all know that it’s nearly the same strange sand-colur as used by the RAF Tornados and Jaguars during dessert storm and that colour – even if sand – was alsways called “pink” !

now you are getting desperate. It’s not a strange sand color, in fact its pretty common if not the most common desert style camouflage

it’s far more closer to those schemes than the Gulf War Tornado, perhaps you are needing an eye check as well

A new rafale export prospect ?

if true, Algerian arms acquisitions seems to be very similar to Indian ones

they bought within the last 10 years:
    Su-30MKI variant (MKA)
    T-90
    Il-78
    and now Rafale

    OK, thanks.
But that is not operational cost, it is compounding life cycle costs and direct acquisition costs, of 22-25%.
They also calculate to operate them a massive 40 years.
They also state that “For another, the difference in the ‘direct acquisition cost’, which will actually be used to ink the contract, was even bigger. “
In other words the acquisition cost was the larger contributor to increase than was operational cost

thanks for the clarification, so we are not any step closer to finding the operational costs then.

    1. So major western warfare academics, intel agencies, reputable defense publishers are all dominated by fanboys if your ranting make sense.

Only when they are cited properly, which fanboys haven’t figured out.. for example citing a 2009 article on an older ship to talk about a 2012 ship lol

    2. This is a PLAN thread, and this kind of reporting has a long tradition in this board, and as far as fact concern, it proven to be the most reliable and accurate and especially, time proven, if you, someone with zero track record on the military knowledge that this board desires the most, but infamous for propaganda ranting, better keep away from here and troll elsewhere.

PLAN thread is only at #4. Pak-fa thread is much longer. Furthermore you are not one of those who contributes anything other than showing up to troll your fanboyism. Other wise PLAN thread is made up of people like Jonesy and Wanshan who post regularly when there is no new ships to boast about

    3. It’s disgusting to see someone disguise some other nation as a cover to carry out his true capability of inflaming.

There is no rule against country names. But quotes like these are obvious flames

Dude, that’s the exactly lazy attitude that sinks your Europeans nowadays.

    3. It’s disgusting to see someone disguise some other nation as a cover

Jonesy called you out on you trying to pass your eyeball examination of a ship as facts, and you couldn’t reply with any real data, so you resort to attacking his country and name calling. Typical fanboy.

FC-1 has signed up customer from start. and this is even more dysfunctional design than J-20. large wing, short length with tall tails. range, internal weopon and performance will be very low (lack of supercruise/high altitude). this may well become overweight. it is black so it must be stealth.

I’d take a good look at the landing gears.

Beefy back gears. Dual front nose wheel. My money is on a navy plane for carrier ops.

    where’s the tail hook then?

here’s a carrier aircraft with beefy gears and dual front nose wheels

Just because you haven’t seen the pic of Chinese flankers in yellow and green makes huitong blind? How laughable.

Photo taken today over three gorge dams. Obviously huitong is blind, right?
    http://www.fyjs.cn/bbs/attachments/Mon_1209/27_79651_900bc6a570dbfa9.jpg

it means you’re blind too. There are no pink, yellow, and green Flankers in that picture either.

Just one in brown with some green similar to USAF F-4 style camouflage and another in two tone sand camouflage.
