    From the PLAAF thread:
Just like the fairing for RD-33 on JF-17, right ?

Those engines are RD-33 variants no doubt. Its basically F-35 with MiG-29 engines.. but they are not the RD-133 variant which is thrust vectoring. If they were, it would be drooping down like this

    A million miles behind.

Exocet’s as good as done on Rafale. EF GmbH have wind tunnel tested and fit checked a couple of candidate weapons on Typhoon.

I would’ve thought Penguin be integrated by now but guess not.

how far is the integration of anti-shipping capabilities of the Typhoon in comparison to the Rafale?

those aren’t really LERXs on the PAK-FA- they’re movable LEVCONs. And the leading edge of the LEVCON has the same sweepback angle as that of the wing itself. Not so on the AMCA configuration whose CFD image was posted.

and when fixed they act as LERXs, also there is a LERX between the LEVCON and main wing

    * F-35-derived radar/EO/computer systems, new composite skin material (requiring redesign of the underlying airframe structure), modified weapons bays for more ground-attack weapons, provisions for external weapons loads.

an F-22C with impregnated composite skins, F-35 derived avionics, and what not does sound awfully nice.

Will the J-20 and Pak-fa also use such skins or will they be using what the F-22 had before that was applied.

Sorry, but I think You are not up to date … they have indeed repainted their Flankers ….

Besides that if You look closely in the image above there are are four camouflages Flankers … and from left to right, the third one is brown+green, while the others are brown-sand/pink (?)

    Deino

no sir, there is not a drop of pink or yellow on these Vietnamese Flankers other than the insignia.

Huitong must be thinking that these Flankers are intended to simulate these instead

The configuration looks different from an earlier one that NAL had shown as well. But are LERXs good for stealth?

    ask the Russians

    Agreed.
But i think the latest F-15K has lost some ground to the latest Su-35S, though some say its more accurat to compair the Su-35S to F-15E..

Would be interesting to see the Diagrams, and kenetic figures of the late Su-27SM3.

But as you say, its the person behind the stick who count the most.

too much talk on missiles and maneuverability, not enough talk on operating costs and life span of the two series of aircraft! so what say ye?

China had flown Flankers into Iran during a goodwill visit not too long ago.

Those are aggressor A/C : From Hui Tong

Hui Tong must be going blind, there’s no pink, yellow, or green in that picture.
nor do the Vietnamese use such a paint.. Charlies only use the standard Russian style blue or the Ugandan doo doo brown.

Putin has been in power since 31 December 1999 (when he became Prime Minister with Yeltsin’s resignation)!

As President of Russia from 2000-2008 he wielded not only the powers of that office but also many of those originally placed in the office of Prime Minister.

When he became PM in 2008 all those powers plus many of the President’s powers were transferred to the PM’s office.

When he became President again in 2012 everything again was shifted back to the Presidency.

He has been in control of Russia for over 12 years now… what makes you think he will suddenly be nicer to Japan than previously?

Putin disagrees, in fact he wants to try talking about the islands again this weekend
    http://www.marketwatch.com/story/japan-russia-agree-to-renew-talks-on-islands-2012-09-08

A purely delusional fantasy… Japan still considers Russia to be a major potential threat. They won’t place their security in jeopardy by replacing their top air-superiority aircraft with a Russian aircraft.

Japan disagrees, they are willing to let themselves be hooked on Russian energy after this recent LNG pact.

Two separate and reputable sources confirm single YF-23 style internal weapons bay placed between the cockpit and the intake. The picture is just an early model, the real one was not allowed to be photographed but said to be about the size of a Super Hornet powered by two EJ2X0 engines.

Seems that they are trying to minimize American content in the KFX due to the opposition from the US aerospace industry lobby, namely Lockheed Martin.

    hello fastdude,
sounds like what KFX might end up being is Eurofighter guts in stealthy body. not bad.. not bad at all.
