re uploading the pics of C103

In other forums (e.g. Secret Projects, here) models and CAD-screenshots clearly show internal weapon bays.

Well the Russians have never sold their best military exports to China. So it must say something that they’re willing to sell it to China.
That is correct, that’s why they are not selling the Pak-fa, but the Su-35 to China. Duh.
su35 is not bad airplane and it is good for its generation but China do not need it because China already have j11, j10b, j20 and j19.
its like selling rafale to America when American can make f22 and f35.
but China can’t make modern transports or helicopters.. still need to buy from Russia as recent Mi-17 purchase shows.
Pinko,
OK so you dont have any proof its an AESA beyond ‘its common knowledge’ you could have just said that.
Your view is that PLANs preferred AAW solution is a low-mounted large panel AESA plus a masthead basic horizon-search mechanical rotator. An arrangement configured to address a primary high-altitude/BMD threat tasking when there is no apparent high-alt/TBM threat that justifies it. OK.
T45. Dont confuse BAE’s official statements with Beedalls analysis. The requirement for T45 was to have a radar mounted at a specific height, at a specific frequency band, to provide a specific zone of coverage. Mounting 4 panels at 150ft masthead means widening the ships beam to maintain stability. More beam increases hydrodynamic drag and means more propulsive force to keep speed performance. Putting 4 panels on then increases costs dramatically more than the price of two additional panels. It means, very simply, a bigger ship!. Your insinuation was that the cost of the panels alone was too much which is simply inaccurate.
haven’t you realized by now Jones. Chinese fanboys operate by rules of exceptionalism, where assumptions, guesstimates, and pictures are enough proof, and where the wests’ military experience doesn’t apply.
C103은 현재 LIG Nex1에서 개발중인 한국형 AESA(Active Electronically Scanned Array) 레이더가 탑재되며, 시제기 완성 후 차후 개량을 거쳐 동체 중앙에 AMRAAM(Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile)급 중거리 공대공 미사일 4발 또는 중거리 공대공 미사일 2발과 1,000 파운드급 JDAM(Joint Direct Attack Munition)을 탑재할 수 있는 IWB(Internal Weapon Bay)를 가질 예정이다.
KF-X C103 is planned to have a Korean AESA being developed by LIG Nex 1 and after the prototype is finished it will have Internal Weapons Bays carrying 4 AMRAAM class medium range air to air missiles or 2 medium range air to air missles and 2 1000 pound JDAMs.
no sir, the model does not seem to have room for a bay if the size of those missiles are correct. especially with those semi-recessed missiles in the way.
no wonder Turkey left the project.
more nice pics of Kazakhstan’s air force.. or in other words.. the air force of Russia’s “Canada”

the selection being analyzed are:
At Air Force Command, they have analysed how far Europe’s Eurofighter, the French Rafale, the Russian SU-30 and MiG-29 MM2, the US F-16, and the Chinese JF-17 meet the standards set in the Defence Ministry’s official request for the procurement of a new multipurpose plane.
I’m guessing JF-17 has the best chance followed by MiG-29M2
I see passion here! oh oh…. someone’s in loooove! You are, aren’t you?eheh
Oh…. And i’m also astonished by your objective and assertive comments and remarks about Portugal. What a brilliant mind we have here, gents! Please keep on!! 😀
As Sintra very well said, we put 10 Fs for sale in 2005 iirc. At the time, and even now, this might have been seen as a bad decision in theory but in practice it doesn’t change a lot for what the reality has been. Operating a 40-a/c fleet would cost what the AF didn’t have in 2005 (or 2000!) not to talk about in a 2012 in crisis! Also, who needs planes when you don’t have pilots? It’s been hard to reach the actual numbers which is still less than the number of planes in both squadrons. I believe the strategic goal remains the same: assure air control in Portugal with 2 aircraft in QRA and have 12 Fs assigned to NATO’s IRF, iirc. So, 30 F-16s are just fine for that.
And the timing for selling these is now! When F-35 begins replacing Vipers across Europe (Netherlands, Norway, Turkey, and whoelse that may go in that direction) there will be a lot of 2ª hand fighters on the market for east european countries to buy (Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, etc etc etc).
Regarding Romania, buying these ex-FAP jets are the best way forward. And the sooner they buy it the better! These 10 F-16s can form an OCU before future purchases are made from other countries (all F-16 MLU are identical). When that happens (lets say in 2018/2020) the Romanians would already have some experience in operating a 4,5th-generation multi-role fighter. It could save some of the remaining hours of the LanceR fleet, making their use more efficient untill that timeframe. Don’t know if they have sufficient funds for that though.
Abraços!
at the moment, Bulgaria has a more threatening air force than Portugal
I tried to google it (search by image) but it seems there is no HQ version…
email the photographer, they will likely have a high res version
The PAKFA was blamed for no single piece canopy so far, however nobody has ever been thinking the reason, why?
Is that an unreachable tech or merely Russian don’t care RCS? I bring the question to the new episode and be waiting for watching those brainless baloney.
its just a prototype. X-35 had a two frame canopy.
Pak-fa’s canopy looks similar to the X-32 one

F-32 would’ve had a one piece
Indian’s Rafale would remain largely produced in France
all the more reason why India should’ve chosen the Mirage 2000 in the first place.. not only would they have gotten it sooner and retire the MiG-21 earlier, but that the MiG-2000 was something they probably could’ve built.
Good luck fitting 4 R37 or Kh58 in a J20 if this pic is anything to go by.
Nic
and do you think the Pak-fa could carry 4 Kh58 in its bay assuming the Su-47 bay is the same one?

No that totally fine (although i find it terribly, terribly boring), i mean stuff like Italy’s post.
get used to it internet police.
Initial hurdle earlier in the year resolved.. sale of Su-35 continues! hooray for China
