But Russia as of now has not shown that political resolve to act on that line and I see two main reasons for it.
    1) Russia do not want to see a complete economic collapse for Europe and want Europe to recover.
    2) Russia doesn’t want to make it much harder for President Obama during his election time with such hostility.

Indeed, Russia knows they need a healthy Europe that would continue to buy Russian energy, and they’d rather have Obama who they could at least talk to, rather than a right wing mormon running the US.

The truck ( actros 3344 locally assembled) dimensions:

that’s not the same truck in the picture. take a look at it again.

That or something new and I do not believe the Chinese would ship a new fighter this way. It doesn’t make sense, especially if they would want to keep it under wraps. Now, if they did want the world to know, they’re on the right track.

I do not believe the PLAAF has an aircraft that can accomodate an ICBM, hence the truck (if that even is an ICBM). The alleged L-15 could probably fit inside of an Il-76. Why not do that?

Il-76 can accommodate bigger aircraft too, see MiG-23

As for mystery airplane in China, I don’t know what it is, but I do feel certain its likely NOT a full scale version of the stealth fighter mock up by Shenyang. The nose is too blunt compared to the model, and the area surrounding the canopy already looks different.

In 1982 the Syrian air defenses, and what they set up over the Bekaa Valley, were vastly more modern and capable (by comparison) than what they are now, never mind the Air Force.

The past record of the “Syrian Air Defense Force” (its an independent arm) its far from flatering (Operation Orchad by example), that crossed with an awfull lot of kit with an urgent need of a complete overhaul and a civil warfare…

I would be astounded to discover that the Türk Hava Kuvvetleri were not prepared to breach Syria´s air defenses.

indeed, Syria’s air defenses have decayed since the 90s, while the Turkish AF has gotten bigger with more F-16s, wedgetail awacs, stand off weapons, etc.

If it was a zSu-23, then I’m not sure it would have the range based on the Turkish map. So it either wasn’t AAA, or the Turkish map is off.

    Zsu-23 could hit that far??

Turkey constantly violates Greek national airspace within 6 nautical miles with military aircraft most of the times fully armed. They carry out provocative flights within Athens FIR and Greek airspace, including low flights over islands, terrifying the local people and tourists,

Turkey does not respect international laws, treaties or at least the elementary good neighboring policy! They apply the same hostile actions to Cyprus (where they still occupy illegally the north part of the country), Syria, Iraq, Bulgaria, etc.

The systematic violation of national airspace and ICAO’s traffic regulations from Turkey creates great hazards for civil aviation. There are numerous recorded incidents where civil aircrafts were put at risk because of such behavior.

Syrians did what other should have done by know!

This is a thread on Turkey and Syria, not Greece’s foreign policy issues.

I don’t wanna be a spoil sport, but one of these threads just got closed. What have this thread in comon with Military Aviation:confused:
Now the real bet is, if this thread will survive past one page..

it could be relevant if people stuck to talking about Turkey’s ability to bomb Syria and get through its defenses. and how Greece would contribute to the conflict

Which is why the bitter feelings concerning the F-35B from many IMHO. The VTOL/VSTOL/STOVL stealth fighter sunk too many resources down the drain at the expense of the two other versions in the program. Not only that, but the B version was the highest priority for a long time.

I wouldn’t have such hard feelings on the F-35B if it had been designed for catapult launches and arrestor recovery as a backup. Think about it, with catapult launch the B version gains a big boost in economy and could haul much larger, externalized loads. You probably are thinking, “What use would a catapult be on an LHD?” Believe it or not, but helicopters can carry much heavier loads with a rolling head start, too.

meh, what should’ve happened was the B should’ve been a separate aircraft program.. and the A-C versions another separate program.

    Il-76 cabin cross section
    http://www.airpartner.com/EasySiteWeb/getresource.axd?AssetID=1077&type=full&servicetype=Inline&customSizeId=0

    2000cm x 340cm x 340cm
    65.7ft x 11.2ft x 11.2ft
    20m x 3.4m x 3.4m

F-35A with out its wings is close to 8-9feet max, 51 feet in length, so yeah it could fit in the Il-76.

And how would You Mr. Mastermind put a fighter of that span into an Il-76 ???

I agree with You that does not prof that thing to be a prototype but it is definitly more than You like to expect as it seems.

Besides that also the F-35 seems to have a single piece wing structure …

no need to be rude, stealth fighters have been transported before.

At least the composite skin covers wing-fuselage of F35 is formed in once piece do you agree? Well, I know at least that of Boeing X-32 was done this way.

It’s unusual about its level and scale:

They are SWAT team if you familar with Chinese Police Unit uniforms

    http://i.imgur.com/XJqX8.jpg

And you also have to consider the main express way network in north China is sealed block by block, in order to give way for this special convoy, which causes massive chaos along the way. But it actually works for us as the traffic information helps locate the convoy’s whereabout.

And the Audi A6 which we used for measuring the length of this aircraft is a military vehicle. But escort still carried by civil forces as it’s civil matter.

here’s a picture of an aircraft being loaded into an Il-76

did you know PLAAF operates Il-76?
    in fact here’s a picture

lets see what makes more sense..

transport top secret fighter on road that takes time to travel on and spend lots of money on security

or send top secret fighter by air, does not require swat team.

Nor sure if its an accurate representation or the aspect ratio of AMCA is really that narrow.

    http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/9987/amca.jpg

it does look really narrow.. either the missiles are also very thin or the aircraft is going to be looong. maybe not J-20 long, but long.

Any news on the remaining Su-22 fleets still in service? Any upgrades planned?

Vietnam still uses it and heard its upgrading. Google it.

Su-22 is a nice plane, in fact it had better precision capabilities than the early Tornados.
