    Hi Peter
We fitted the intake blanks today after they had been repainted as we are to get a visit next Sunday from the Vulcan group at Bruntingthorpe. You may have heard about it they are having a 24 hour scramble,15 Vulcans visited in 24 hours midnight to midnight, I wish them well, they should get to us at lunch time.

    spifire

The spifire at the aeropark is not the one from Donington race circuit .The Aeropark was offered it but it is damaged and the price was not cheap plus the aeropark already had this one on site.
Im told the race track one is stored in a building on the race circuit

Happy New Year to you all

    HI DAVE
THANKS for your support and understanding there would be little point in having two Hunter T.7 in the collection the area although a good size would soon be full if we had two of everything!!.
Everyone that has tried to buy these aircraft in the past will know how hard it was. The AVA purchased all of Stewart and Tonys collection thats how the deal went if you want a Hunter T.7 or a Vampire T.11 then step forward and make your offer but for the complete aircraft please!
Weather permitting we hope to be there on the 3rd of Jan

    regards Dave H

    hi james
“you are out of touch with the aeropark !! ” as one of the vampire’s has been moved on and the second one will follow as the one from Long Marston requires a lot less work to complete. The Sherrif’s fuselage has been painted the wings are fixed together and the tail assembly is being worked on.
The starboard outer wing of the Meteor TT.20 underside has been painted and turned over so the top can be painted then it will be fitted. you missed the second meteor a NF.14 this one is in store and will be done as timeis available. All efforts to remove the Whirlwind leg failed but a new repair has been found we have fitted a pipe inside and it just needs welding. A large amount of the upper surface of the Vulcan has been painted late summer. The Chipmunk fuselage has been primed with rollers but it is hoped to spray the silver. The Jet Provost has been put together and with very little paint on it the prep work for painting will be minimal. The hunter GA.11 is as close to ready to move as we can get it, without the lorries, this should move early 2009.
The Sea Venom is in pieces so it will not take a lot to move it the woodwork has been restored by stewart and his dad and other parts have been painted with primer. A new storage area is being made to take all the parts that came with the aircraft. Remember all these aircraft have been moved before so the systems are mostly disconnected. There is very little corrosion so its prep and paint.
How many volunteer run museums do you know that have not got aircraft that would not benifit from some work and sometimes these offers come along and they have to be taken.l have only been helping with the aircraft move but l have been a member of the AVA since 1999 and l dont believe we have met why did you leave?.
