We have some roads prepared to be used as runways (one is near my town) . They were heavily used in soviet times. Now the planes aren’t taking of any more, but they still is in good condition (if not better) and can be used in a case of war. You can identify them, because there are some sections of road which is much more wider than other sections of same road.
STOVL , GE F-136, Large wing, navalbased gear, internal gun (Mauser BK-27) , drogue type refueling.

According to articles published in local Defence Press, there is a strong possibility that Greece will add two more Patriot Pac3 batteries to its already six existeed ones, within the years to come. If that scenario isn’t that far away from becoming real then why shouldn’t Greece consider the prospect of purchasing two new Russian S-400 or perhaps, two Israeli Arrow II instead? Please, spare few moments and leave your comment.
I think S-400 would be a best choice, because there won’t be any problems to give them to Cyprus.
Where are they getting them from?
I think, from AMARC, because USAF are replacing them by T-6 Texan-2’s and lots of T-37 are moving to Tucson.
Personally i think that Afghans should get more “combat” aircraft like A-37 to fight taliban insurgents.
I think my countries air force can be called small, so i post that photo here :
It’s first of 3 Lithuania’s C-27J. This aircraft is going to be delivered this december.
Great aircraft for poor latin American/African countries which needs to replace their aging A-37, F-5 fleet. Cheap and simple.
Wasn’t the the Me-262 called the Swallow (Vogel), if my memory serves me correctly?
There were two versions of me-262. Ones that served as Fighters/interceptors was named “schwalbe” (swallow), fighter/bombers was named “sturmvogel” .
What a sad news…
What about a upgraded B-52 with “General Electric CF6” engines?
One of the greatest fighters ever flies again.

Other competers was CASA C-295, AN-74 .
Moldovan MiG-29 Izdelye 9.13 #08 from all sides..
How old that photos is? Do you have photos from Moldovan civil war?
i will build airforce of my own country. the situation was quite similar in my country before 15 years. the terrain and border countries is shown here : http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fb/LithuaniaPhysicalMap-Detailed.png , http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/20/Lithuania_pol_2002.jpg . my choice would be Pilatus PC-9 for initial training role, second hand L-159 for more advanced and few ex-USAF T-38 for last stage. Cheap used JAS-39a/b’s for fighter role. ex-USN P-3C’s for maritime patrol , E-2C’s for airborn early warning and S-3’s for tanker role. A C-27J will be main transport plane of my country. some AN-70’s is also needed. Sea king would be used for SAR . main utility helicopter would be UH-1N. MI-8,26 would be used as transport helicopters. attack helicopters would be MD-500 and mi-35 .
in Korean war soviet PO-2 (which was made mainly from wood) was very rarely seen by radars.
