    RE: Landing on water

When I worked as cabin Crew for the airline formerly known as Crossair. We were instructed that the lifevest demo only had to be done when taking off or landing at an airport that was surrounded by water.
Also when flying over water for more than 50km.

If i remember correctly wasnt the cause of the american airline’s crash because a 747 had just taken off before them and they had taken off within the wake of the plane?

Also refuelling with passengers on board is forbidden. Unless the passengers have their seatbelts undone and the doors are open with crew standing by the doors incase of an emergency.

Any one else agree with this?

    RE: Pseudonyms

Mine is from the aircraft is used to work on as cabin crew for the fromer crossair airline. The avro rj is nicknamed Jumbolino as it one the only aircraft in the fleet that had 4 engines and they thought it looked like a mini jumbo and i was one of the first male cabin crew to work on it.

And what about the orange uniforms!!!!! Is it me or do the male cabin crew seem to have orange faces to match the shirts?

Hope u all had a great xmas. I did I got offered a position as cabincrew with MyTravel Airways after losing my job with crossair. Yey:+

    RE: Airline food

    Hi guys.
Well I have no particular fav where food is concerned but if the alcohol is free then they have my vote.
Crossair did good food but on short flights there was too much to eat in such a short space of time.
Aprt from that AirUK leisure did very good meals

RE: passenger plane( that is what they say) hits world trade center.

I have just checked with a friend at Virgin as I have friends who are flying to America this morning and 3 more passenegr aircraft are still missing. High security alerts are now in place all over the usa, isreal, and uk. The virgin flight has been flying in a cirlcle around the oceon since 11am this morning and has just been ordered to return to Heathrow.
I am still in shock watching the news of what has happened. These people are b*****ds.
Words are not enough for what those people must be going through.

I have flown out of SKG airport as crossair have a flight there evry night. It is very quick to get in and even quicker to get out of. Small compact and a very good airport with very good staff. 🙂

ZRH is a good airport but compared to most international airports is needs modernising. It looks like it is stuck in a 60’s time warp. Birmingham is a good one although it takes a long time to walk from the gate to the arrivals hall. My favourite is london City, small compact and easy (especially with a hamgover ahahahahaha)

RE: where to meet at ZRH

Nope I was not. Sadly I only get to do scheduled flights with those lovely business passengers. The only plane I fly on is the AVRO RJ 85/100 which has the nickname “Jumbolino”.
Be prepared to pay approx 2 swiss francs to get on to the terrace and a bag and body search as well.
The weather is good here at the mo with plenty of sunshine.
Oh between the hours of 2pm and 4pm you may catch Thai airways 747 taking off. You can get good photos at the very end of the terrace next to the cafe.

    Have Fun.
