What does backlit mean? 😮
Improved shots! Liking the second Excel one a lot.
It means that you are taking a photo facing into the sun, and the plane looks too dark. It is always best to photo the plane with the sun behind you (lighting up the plane) as you can see with the Monarch.
10/10 Paul 😀
Was there much happening cargo-wise at East Midlands? Quite fancy a trip there myself
I can’t believe that FlyGlobeSpan used a 738 on the Sanford route 😮
Cracking shots though!
I know, shocking isn’t it Sam 😮
Great stuff Ian, cannot wait to get down there again!
It’s all about the light….;)

…don’t really fancy a ride on that ATP 😉
Brilliant stuff there mate, how come I always miss all these 🙁
Great stuff, wish I ad my old job back and was off on a Thursday 🙂 The Evergreen ST looks fantastic
Great stuff! Wish I was there to have seen it
Hi mate, I like the first CLX 744F. Love it when you catch them in the sun landing after a heavy shower!
Not much more money! It’s about £300, which in most people’s terms is a lot! Having said that I probably would go for a 30D if i could:cool:
Very good shots, Paul.
Fair point Tom, although the difference is about £200, which yes, is a lot of money, but if you can afford it, its the best £200 you will ever spend IMHO.
Briliant shots Phil, where did you take the ground shots from?
Damian
Thanks for your comments guys!
Damian… The 30D is wonderful! My photos don’t look the slightest bit better compared to my 350D (I knew they wouldn’t), but it’s a much nicer camera to use. Also my cameras go pretty much everywhere with me so they do tend to get quite a lot of use, and I think the 30D’s better build will stand up much better to this than the 350D’s, which after less than a year accompanying me on tour is already showing signs of wear (albeit only aesthetically. Mechanically and electronically it’s still perfect).
So I’m pretty happy with it. I have no money anymore but I do have an awesome camera!
Thanks again for your comments!
Paul
Ah, nice to see someone with some common sense! I cannot get over the amount of people rushing out for a 400d when they can have a 30d for not much more money, it may loose out by 2 mega pixels, which you wouldn’t get the benefits from unless you were printing out huge posters! But the 30d is ideal for Aircraft Photography with 5 frames per second shooting and it’s robust build. I’ve got a 20d due for replacement within the next few months, it was nice to hear you are getting on fine with it!.
Nice shots Paul, how are you getting on with the 30D?
The new U.S colours do it for me, I’d love to see that
