Ion propulsion is suitable for long term space mission but not in atmospheric use as it generate very little amount of thrust.

The Nuclear cruise missile is likely using Jet, closed cycle with some sort of state of the art reactor and heat exchanger.

The question is..how many would be launched. It’s a matter of salvo size for anti ship missiles. and we don’t know yet if Kinzhal also do maneuver or other tricks on its sleeve to avoid interception. 2000 km range roughly means terminal velocity of 4 km/s half of those ICBM’s and missile apogee of about 500 km. I wonder what’s the envelope of those ABM’s.

US still pursuing GBSD anyway to replace their aging Minuteman. and there is nothing wrong with more means for nuclear delivery. Bypassing NMD and ensure deterrence value.

anyway i heard Putin stated “nuclear powered cruise missile” Well. This really reminds me of project pluto. Design wise it would be very dirty as the reactor would be unshielded (likely) and work at very high temperature.

It’s a nice concept work. But the question is of course where it would be built and when. I would love to see more Yasens tho or more Gorshkov FFG’s. or Leader.

Isn’t Su-57 bay is the same dimension as one demonstrated in Su-47 ?

Still there is a long-range missile “product 810” for T-50

    The wingless R-37 ?

Im curious if 4 can be carried inside the bay (or 2 per bay)

Im curious if Russia will offer 300Km range RVV-BD for export or they will just gimp it to 200 km as in brochure. That’s gonna make best available anti AEW/ standoff jammer missile in export market.

I wonder what change we could expect in future TOR’s. I would expect increase in target handling capacity tho, beside fire on the move. because today is the era of mass precision munitions. adversary could be expected to employ large numbers of decoys or bombs.

Design wise, tor engagement radar (at least the early version) make heavy use of “thinned array” design with element spacing of 3 wavelengths and about 3000 elements. Electronic scanning ability is thereby limited to 7 degrees. BUT it have like 40Db gain and very narrow beamwidth, suitable for low angle target engagement. and of course very low cost.

Great, though to be fair the aircraft wasn’t even really ready to be exported until a couple of years ago.

With all these offset facilities, only make sense to increase their purchase down the line. Will Indonesia be able to offer hard cash/take up a credit offer in the future, or is the near/mid prospect the same commodity/cash mix?

Yes we can. assuming our MOD not making same mistake as before by not actually list the budget with our ministry of finance and they really make the investment in the same manner as our CBG submarine building facility. There are already talks about more sukhoi birds namely the SM variant (as MK2 lines in KNAAPO are closing). We are planning for additional 3 squadrons of fighter aircraft, these 3 squadrons however are still in early concepts.
